The Vietnamese women's volleyball team fielded their strongest lineup.
Facing the Philippines team, who were fielding three American-born players for the first time – Brooke Van Sickle, MJ Phillips, and Tia Andaya – the Vietnamese women's volleyball team's coaching staff cautiously fielded their strongest lineup with Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Nguyen Thi Trinh, Nguyen Khanh Dang, Tran Thi Bich Thuy, Doan Thi Lam Oanh, and Nguyen Thi Uyen.

The home team started better, but the Philippine players persevered before leveling the score and taking a 12/10 lead against the Vietnamese women's volleyball team. High concentration and effective defense helped the Philippine team maintain a 2-point lead (18/16). At one point, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet had to bring in setter Kim Thoa and opposite hitter Kieu Trinh to replace Bich Tuyen and Lam Oanh in order to refresh the game and prevent the opponent from anticipating their moves. However, it was only in the final explosive moments of the match that the Vietnamese team managed to win the first set 25/20 against their opponents.
The Vietnamese women's volleyball team continued to have a better start in the second set, but the efforts of the Philippine players helped them keep pace. At a crucial moment in the set, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen shone again, helping the Vietnamese team win 25/21.
The third set continued to see intense back-and-forth rallies between the Vietnamese and Philippine teams. However, the talented duo of Thanh Thúy and Bích Tuyền proved their worth by scoring crucial points, helping the Vietnamese women's volleyball team win 25/21, thus securing a 3-0 victory over the Philippines. With wins in both matches, Coach Nguyễn Tuấn Kiệt's team now holds the top spot in Group A of the VTV Cup 2025 International Women's Volleyball Tournament.
