Ha Long City Party Committee carries out the personnel process to fill the position of Chairman of the City People's Council

On May 23, Ha Long City Party Committee held conferences to implement the personnel process, requesting the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to consider introducing and electing additional candidates for the position of Chairman of the City People's Council, term II, 2021-2026.

The City Party Committee Conference discussed and introduced candidates for the election of additional candidates for the position of Chairman of the City People's Council, term II, 2021-2026.

On April 21, 2023, the Standing Committee of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee issued Decision No. 1015-QD/TU to transfer comrade Vu Van Dien, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council, Secretary of the Military Party Committee of Ha Long City, to cease holding the position of Secretary of the Ha Long City Party Committee, term 2020-2025 to assume the position of Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee, term 2021-2026, from May 1, 2023.

At the same time, on April 28, 2023, comrade Vu Van Dien submitted a resignation letter from the position of Chairman of the People's Council of Ha Long City, term 2021-2026.

The conference of key city officials sought opinions on introducing candidates to elect additional candidates for the position of Chairman of the City People's Council, term II, 2021-2026.

To perfect the position of Chairman of the City People's Council, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee reported to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, asking for approval to perfect the position of Chairman of the Ha Long City People's Council, term II, 2021-2026.

The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee has issued a directive document, agreeing in principle to implement the process of perfecting the position of Chairman of the Ha Long City People's Council, term II, 2021-2026, from local human resources in the planning, ensuring conditions and standards according to regulations after the City People's Council dismissed the position of Chairman of the Ha Long City People's Council, term II, 2021-2026, for comrade Vu Van Dien.

Key city officials voted to introduce candidates to elect additional positions as Chairman of the City People's Council, term II, 2021-2026.

On that basis, on May 23, the Ha Long City Party Committee held a meeting of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, a meeting of the City Party Executive Committee, and a conference of key city officials to conduct a 5-step personnel process in accordance with regulations. Through the conferences, the aim is to discuss, propose, and agree on the standards, conditions, structure, and process of introducing personnel to elect additional candidates for the position of Chairman of the City People's Council, term II, 2021-2026.

Accordingly, comrade Vu Thi Mai Anh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ha Long City Party Committee, term 2020-2025, was unanimously proposed by the Standing Committee, the Party Executive Committee and key officials of the city to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to consider and introduce her to be elected to the position of Chairman of the City People's Council, term II, term 2021-2026.
