Starting from December 20, 2024, the island nation's low-cost airline - Scoot - will launch a direct route from Singapore to Phu Quoc (Vietnam) with a frequency of 3 round trips/week, according to The Strait Times. By 2025, Scoot plans to increase the number of flights for the Singapore - Phu Quoc direct route to 5 round trips/week.

This is considered a positive signal for Phu Quoc, showing the increasing attraction of the island that has just been honored by a series of the most prestigious international travel magazines. Travel + Leisure chose Phu Quoc as the second most beautiful island in the world , just after Maldives, while Condé Nast Traveler chose Phu Quoc for 3 consecutive years in the top best islands in the world, with the score increasing significantly each year.

The opening of a direct flight from Singapore promises to bring many opportunities to the Pearl Island. Phu Quoc is expected to welcome tourists not only from Singapore, but also from other countries in the region and around the world because Singapore is considered one of the busiest transit points in the world, welcoming up to 85 million visitors each year.

As a visa-free island for all tourists in the world, with the opening of direct flights from Singapore, Phu Quoc is expected to become a new destination for the expatriate community and European and American experts living in Singapore...

It is estimated that the Lion Island has up to 1.64 million foreigners working and living there, a huge number compared to a similar city in the region, Bangkok (Thailand), with about 200,000 people. Not only does it have beautiful nature, to welcome the year-end tourist season, Ngoc Island is preparing to launch a series of new experiences to "retain" and increase attraction, in order to bring visitors back many times.
