Another university to hold its own entrance exam from 2025

The above information was emphasized by Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 in the announcement of regular university admission methods in 2025. Accordingly, the school implements 6 admission methods, an increase of one method compared to 2024:

• Consider high school graduation exam results
• Consider academic results
• Direct admission and priority for direct admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training
• Admission is based on the results of the competency assessment exam of 2 National Universities, Hanoi National University of Education and the specialized assessment exam of Ho Chi Minh City National University of Education.
• Admission is based on the results of the separate entrance exam organized by Hanoi National University of Education 2.
• Consider the results of the aptitude test for some majors

Specialized pedagogical training majors such as preschool education , physical education, and sports management use the above methods, but in the admission combinations, the results of aptitude tests organized by the school are used. Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 does not use aptitude test results organized by other universities.

Thus, according to this announcement, from 2025, the school will organize a separate entrance exam for admission.

A representative of the Training Department of Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 said that according to regulations, before organizing a separate exam, the school must announce its admission plan. After that, the school will establish a Committee to develop a plan and schedule for organizing the separate exam before announcing it to the public.

Currently, the whole country has 10 units and universities that organize their own entrance exams, including: Ho Chi Minh City National University, Hanoi National University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Hanoi Pedagogical University, Ho Chi Minh City Pedagogical University, Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, Saigon University, Ministry of Public Security, Vietnam-Germany University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Of these, the exams of the two National Universities and Hanoi Polytechnics attract the most candidates and are used by many schools for admission. The competency assessment test scores of Ho Chi Minh City National University are used by 105 universities and colleges for admission. This number is 90 and 40, respectively for the exams of Hanoi National University and Hanoi Polytechnics.

According to the Law on Education and the Law on Higher Education, universities are autonomous in enrollment work. Therefore, schools base on current enrollment regulations to develop enrollment plans. If considered from the perspective of legal regulations, they are completely allowed to organize their own exams.

Having additional exams will open the door to university, creating opportunities for candidates, but also making many candidates worried when there are too many different admission methods.
