Another school in Ho Chi Minh City is surveying to recruit 6th grade students.

In addition to the 5 junior high schools as announced, Ho Chi Minh City has one more junior high school surveying to enroll 6th grade students for the 2025-2026 school year.

The Departmentof Education and Training of Hoc Mon District, Ho Chi Minh City has just issued a survey plan to enroll 6th grade students at Nguyen An Khuong Secondary School. This is the only school in Hoc Mon and the 6th school in Ho Chi Minh City to enroll 6th grade students by survey.

Accordingly, in the 2025-2026 school year, Nguyen An Khuong Secondary School will enroll 8 grade 6 classes with 280 targets, through an aptitude test.

The survey lasts 90 minutes and consists of 2 parts.

Multiple choice section: Time limit: 30 minutes. Students answer 20 multiple choice questions in English about understanding natural sciences , social sciences and common sense.

Essay section: Time to do the test is 60 minutes. English proficiency test includes listening - comprehension, reading - comprehension, writing, and test taking 20 minutes; math and logical thinking test takes 20 minutes; reading comprehension and writing test takes 20 minutes.

Hoc Mon District Department of Education and Training said that from May 24 to 27, candidates can register for the 6th grade exam at the primary school admissions website https://tuyensinhdaucap.hcm.edu.vn.

Also during this time, candidates/parents submit their registration forms directly at Nguyen An Khuong Secondary School. On May 29, receive their exam attendance cards at the school.

The survey time is May 30. The survey results are expected to be announced at 5:00 p.m. on May 31. The admission scores to the school will be announced on June 4.

Admitted students are those who complete the entire survey and do not receive a score of 0 in any part of the survey. Based on the survey results, the admissions board will consider from high to low until the quota is met and according to criteria appropriate to the school model.

In case students have the same score, the council will consider in order of priority: students with English certificates from high to low level; math and Vietnamese scores at the end of semester II of grade 5.

Previously, 5 schools in Ho Chi Minh City announced that they would conduct surveys to enroll 6th graders: Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School, Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School, Hoa Lu Secondary School, Binh Tho Secondary School, and Nguyen Huu Tho Secondary School.

Conditions for registration to attend the 6th grade entrance exam

Hoc Mon District Department of Education and Training stipulates: survey participants Students who have completed primary school in Hoc Mon district, and students who have completed primary school elsewhere and are currently residing in Hoc Mon district; the final exam score of 2nd semester of grade 5 in Vietnamese and math is 9 points or higher.

The 2024-2025 school year is the first year that Nguyen An Khuong Secondary School will enroll 6th graders using a competency assessment survey, with a target of 245 students. Last year, the competition ratio to get into this school was 1 to 2.94 when 724 candidates participated in the survey.
