Another university announced that it will not use academic transcripts for admission but only as a preliminary condition for candidates in 2025.

The Admissions Council of Nha Trang University has just announced the direction of regular university admission in 2025. Accordingly, the school will consider admission based on a combination of high school academic results and university academic capacity assessment results.
With the high school academic results, each major and training major of the school, candidates must study a certain number of subjects at the high school level according to the school's regulations. The results of these subjects must meet the minimum requirements announced by the school every year.
With the results of the university learning capacity assessment, each major and training major of the school, candidates must participate in the university learning capacity assessment. The capacity assessment focuses on math, language (including Vietnamese and English) and science . For the science part, candidates can choose the range corresponding to the subjects studied in high school and suitable for the major and training major according to the school's regulations.
In which, the results of university learning capacity assessment can be from the high school graduation exam or other training institution's capacity assessment exams. The orientation of admission combination from the high school graduation exam includes the main subjects: math, literature and English; or math, literature (one of the two subjects multiplied by a coefficient of 2); or math, literature and 1 subject suitable for the training field.
In case the candidate does not study the necessary subjects in high school for the major being considered for admission, the school will consider the study results in high school and evaluate the capacity of other subjects instead and will supplement the missing knowledge in the first semester of the course.
Notably, Nha Trang University announced that the admission process consists of two steps: preliminary selection and admission. In which, the school organizes preliminary selection (considered a necessary condition) through high school academic results (report cards) according to subjects prescribed by the school. After that, the school organizes admission (considered a sufficient condition) through the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam or the results of the competency assessment exam.
The list of high school subjects expected to be used for preliminary selection and the scope of university learning capacity assessment in admission to each major of the school in 2025 are as follows:
Associate Professor, Dr. To Van Phuong, Head of Training Department of Nha Trang University, said that the issuance of the university admissions orientation in 2025 aims to provide the right career orientation for students studying the new generaleducation program. Thus, with the above orientation, the university does not use academic transcript scores for admission. This criterion is only a preliminary condition for candidates when applying for admission to the school.
Previously, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education announced its admission method from 2025. Accordingly, the school will not use the admission method based on high school academic results (report cards) but only retain the threshold conditions to ensure input quality to meet the requirements according to the admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
