On the 3 gently sloping hills in Ma Mu Su 1 village, Sang Ma Sao commune, from early morning, the highland fog had not yet cleared, groups of workers were present at the construction site, some drilling and breaking rocks, some mixing mortar, some building walls, working enthusiastically.

Flood resettlement project in Sang Ma Sao
Mr. Luong Van Linh, the construction team leader, shared: "We have built many projects but this is the first time we have participated in a humanitarian project like this. We all try our best to help people build their houses as quickly as possible, hoping that everyone will be happy in their new homes."
The resettlement project for people affected by natural disasters in Sang Ma Sao is invested by the Military Region 2 Command and implemented by the 789 Corporation ( Ministry of National Defense ). The project consists of 60 houses designed in the traditional architectural style of the Mong people, on a total area of 3.5 hectares.
According to Lieutenant Nguyen Chi Trung, Regiment 174, Division 316, in addition to the impacts of the highland terrain and the rainy and foggy weather, the construction site also has many large rocks that require a lot of time to drill and break instead of using dynamite to avoid affecting the surrounding area, so teams often have to work overtime to maintain progress even during holidays.

Soldiers work through the holidays.
Lieutenant Nguyen Chi Trung said: "Our officers always urge our soldiers to promote their highest spirit, preserve the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers, continue the tradition of the unit, with the slogan "overcoming the sun and rain, working enthusiastically on the construction site", working day and night for the local people, ready to complete the task well with the earliest progress and highest quality to soon put the project into use".

The process of leveling the ground required drilling and breaking many large blocks of rock.
According to Mr. Vu A Sung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Sang Ma Sao commune, in September 2024, the circulation of storm No. 3 ( Yagi ) caused floods and rains, affecting the housing of more than 130 households, of which 5 houses were completely damaged. The project's target of completion before June 30 is highly anticipated because it will solve the huge housing needs of the people before the peak flood season.

Construction atmosphere is bustling every day.
"When the resettlement area is completed and handed over, our Party Committee and government will closely coordinate with the District People's Committee and relevant departments and offices to select and approve which households are currently lacking residential land to relocate and stabilize their lives," said Mr. Vu A Sung.
