Rice prices in the Mekong Delta region continued their downward trend today, October 24th. On the export market, Vietnamese rice prices fell sharply, while those of Thailand and Pakistan remained stable.
According to an update from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, today's rice prices remain unchanged compared to yesterday. IR 50404 is priced at 6,800 - 7,000 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice at 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice at 7,200 - 7,400 VND/kg; OM 18 rice at 7,200 - 7,300 VND/kg; OM 380 rice at 7,200 - 7,300 VND/kg; Nhat rice at 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg; and Nang Nhen (dried) rice at 20,000 VND/kg.

Observations in localities such as Soc Trang , Dong Thap, and An Giang show that transactions are sluggish, and warehouses are slow to purchase. In An Giang, many warehouses are slow to purchase, with low supply and stable prices.
In addition, the glutinous rice market remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Long An IR 4625 glutinous rice (dry) at 9,600 - 9,800 VND/kg remained stable compared to yesterday. Long An 3-month glutinous rice (dry) at 9,800 - 10,000 VND/kg also remained unchanged compared to yesterday.
On the rice market, prices have been adjusted compared to yesterday. Currently, the price of IR 504 summer-autumn raw rice has fallen to 10,500 - 10,600 VND/kg, a decrease of 100 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the price of finished IR 504 rice has fallen to 12,600 - 12,700 VND/kg, also a decrease of 100 VND/kg.
Regarding by-products, the prices of various by-products range from 5,900 to 9,600 VND/kg. Currently, the price of OM 5451 broken rice remains stable at 9,500 - 9,600 VND/kg compared to yesterday; the price of dry rice bran is unchanged at 5,900 - 6,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
At retail markets, rice prices have seen adjustments for various rice varieties. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price at 28,000 VND/kg; the price of common white rice has increased by 500 VND/kg today, reaching 17,500 VND/kg. However, the price of regular rice remains stable at around 15,000 - 17,000 VND/kg, fragrant rice at 17,000 - 23,000 VND/kg. Jasmine rice is priced at 18,000 - 20,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice at 21,500 VND/kg; regular white rice fluctuates around 15,000 - 16,000 VND/kg; long-grain fragrant rice at 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice at 23,000 VND/kg; and Taiwanese fragrant rice at 21,000 VND/kg. Regular Soc rice costs 18,500 VND/kg; Thai Soc rice costs 21,000 VND/kg; and Japanese rice costs 22,000 VND/kg.
On the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices have been adjusted compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), 100% broken rice is priced at US$432/ton, down US$6/ton; standard 5% broken rice is priced at US$532/ton, down US$2; and 25% broken rice is priced at US$504/ton, down US$2/ton.
