Sacred Flag Raising Ceremony on Nha Trang's 100th Anniversary

At exactly 6:00 a.m. on April 2, at April 2 Square, Nha Trang City, the Party Committee, Government and People of Khanh Hoa Province solemnly held a Flag Raising Ceremony to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the construction and development of Nha Trang City (1924 - 2024), 15 years of Nha Trang being recognized as a class I city under the province (2009 - 2024), and 49 years of the liberation of Khanh Hoa Province (April 2, 1975 - April 2, 2024).

Attending the ceremony were: Nguyen Hai Ninh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Khac Toan - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Tan Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Ha Quoc Tri - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Tran Ngoc Thanh - Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Ho Van Mung - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Nha Trang City Party Committee, along with members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and Nha Trang City... Attending the Flag Raising Ceremony were also more than 700 delegates from agencies and units in the province.

At the flag-raising ceremony, the delegates reviewed the 49th anniversary of the liberation of Khanh Hoa province (April 2, 1975 - April 2, 2024). This is also a brilliant milestone in the heroic history of 21 years of the long-term resistance war against the US, full of hardships, sacrifices but extremely glorious of the Party Committee, government, army and people of Khanh Hoa. Following the footsteps of previous generations, over the past 49 years, the Party Committee, Government and People in the province have overcome all difficulties, striving to build the homeland of Khanh Hoa more and more prosperous. In 2023, the province's socio -economic targets all reached and exceeded the set plan; in which GRDP increased by 10.35% (the province has the 4th highest GRDP growth rate in the country, leading the North Central and Central Coast regions); Total budget revenue reached 18,012.7 billion, exceeding the plan by 16.6%, up 9.2% compared to 2022; total social development investment capital is estimated at 71,302.8 billion, up 7.6% compared to 2022, attracting 17 non-budget investment projects with a total registered capital of 100,865.7 billion VND...

Delivering a speech at the flag-raising ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan emphasized: “Since King Khai Dinh issued an edict to establish Nha Trang town and was approved by the Governor-General of Indochina in 1924, the city has now completed 100 years of construction and development. Having undergone many upgrades from town to town (in 1944), from town to city (March 30, 1977) and becoming a class I urban area under Khanh Hoa province (April 22, 2009), many new opportunities have been opened for the comprehensive development of the city. From a wild land, but thanks to the persistent and resilient labor of many generations, Nha Trang has become the beautiful city it is today. Over the past 100 years, Nha Trang has been built and developed into a class I urban area under the province; with the spirit of solidarity, dynamism, creativity and aspiration to rise, the Party Committee, Government and People of Nha Trang city have made constant efforts to promote potential, advantages, overcoming all difficulties and challenges, building and developing the city to achieve many important achievements, Nha Trang is currently the most dynamic urban area in the South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions; the appearance of the city is increasingly modern, being one of the tourism - resort centers, a place to organize national and international events, a safe destination for domestic and foreign tourists. With high confidence and determination, on this solemn occasion, I request each cadre, party member, worker and Nha Trang people to continue to promote the fine traditions of the nation, foster the will of self-reliance, self-reliance, arouse the desire to rise up, strive to excellently complete the assigned tasks, build the coastal city of Nha Trang increasingly prosperous, civilized, happy, contributing to realizing the province's goal by 2030, Khanh Hoa becomes a centrally-run city".
