Namibia has declared a state of emergency due to severe drought, affecting about 1.4 million people, half the population, facing severe food shortages.
Meat from the slaughtered animals will be distributed to badly affected areas, especially in rural areas, helping to alleviate hunger caused by drought and the impacts of climate change.
