Lieutenant Colonel Tran Kim Tuan, Deputy Commander of the Da Nang City Military Command, directly commanding the search and rescue force at the scene, said: The City Military Command requested the Defense Command of Zone 2 - Thanh My and the units stationed in the area to strictly maintain 24/7 duty, promptly report on weather developments and landslide levels; at the same time, prepare enough means and logistics to be ready to mobilize when new situations arise.

In the context of continuous rain, dense fog, and road cuts, the City Military Command emphasized that the top priority is to ensure absolute safety for people, not to let people lack shelter, food and necessities; at the same time, continue to coordinate with the police and border guards to maintain security and order in areas with densely populated temporary residences.

Previously, there was information about a terrible landslide that occurred at around 9:30 a.m. on November 14 in Put village (Hung Son commune) - the border with Ch'om commune and the old Gari commune. Although the weather was sunny, a large hill suddenly collapsed, taking with it an estimated 1 million cubic meters of rock and soil. The giant rock and soil completely buried a section of Highway 4 and the people's farming area. The authorities confirmed that 3 local people were in the field area at the time of the incident and are still missing. The victims suspected of being buried include Hoih Z'Nut (born in 1977), Zozam Nho (born in 1997), and Briu Thi Tep (born in 1998).

Immediately after receiving information about the incident, rescue work was urgently deployed with the spirit of "4 on-site". The Forward Command Center was established at the scene to direct all search activities. The Da Nang City Military Command mobilized more than 100 officers and soldiers to coordinate with the police forces, Ga Ry Border Guard Station and Hung Son commune militia to participate in the search and rescue work throughout the night. Specialized vehicles such as Flycam and service dogs were also mobilized to support observation and zoning of areas suspected of having victims, especially in steep terrain locations.

However, due to complicated weather conditions, heavy rain, fog, and high risk of further landslides, the search has been temporarily stopped to ensure safety.

According to Hung Son Commune Party Secretary Nguyen An, to ensure the safety of the people, on the night of November 14, Hung Son Commune authorities organized an emergency evacuation of 171 households with 664 people in G'Lao and H'Juh villages out of the danger zone, bringing them to safe temporary shelters in schools and neighboring villages. The authorities arranged temporary accommodation, provided food and provisions to stabilize the lives of the people, and visited and encouraged families with missing relatives.
