It is forecasted that around November 17, this cold air mass will affect the Northeast and North Central regions, then expand to the Northwest and North Central regions. From November 17-18, the North will have rain, showers and thunderstorms in some places. From the night of November 17, the weather will turn cold, with severe cold in the highlands. The lowest temperature is commonly 12-15 degrees Celsius, in the highlands below 10 degrees Celsius. In Hanoi , from the night of November 17, the weather will be cold, with the lowest temperature being 13-15 degrees Celsius.

Due to the combined impact of increased cold air and high-altitude easterly wind disturbances, the Central region is facing and will face a prolonged period of heavy rain. Last night and early morning of November 16, the area from Ha Tinh to Khanh Hoa had showers, with moderate to heavy rain in many places.

The North turns cold, the mountainous areas are very cold.

It is forecasted that from the morning of November 16 to the morning of November 18, the area from Quang Tri to Da Nang city, the east of Quang Ngai and Gia Lai provinces will have very heavy rain with rainfall of 200-400 mm, locally over 550 mm. The area of ​​Ha Tinh, the east of Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa provinces will have heavy rain with rainfall of 100-250 mm, locally over 350 mm. From Quang Ngai to Dak Lak (the western area), the rainfall will generally be from 40-80 mm, some places over 150 mm.

During the day and night of November 18, heavy rains spread widely in Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, the East of Quang Ngai and Gia Lai with heavy to very heavy rains with rainfall ranging from 100-200 mm, in some places exceeding 300 mm. Total rainfall for the entire period (November 15-18) from Quang Tri to Da Nang City, the East of Quang Ngai and Gia Lai can reach 300-600 mm, in some places up to 850 mm. There is a very high risk of flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas and flooding in low-lying areas.

From November 19, heavy rains continued in Da Nang City and provinces from Quang Ngai to Khanh Hoa. The Southern region from November 16-18 also had moderate rain and thunderstorms, with some places experiencing heavy to very heavy rain, with rainfall of 50-100 mm, locally exceeding 150 mm.

At sea, the Northeast wind is strong at level 6 in the Huyen Tran station area. From the evening and night of November 17, the Northeast wind in the Gulf of Tonkin gradually increases to level 7, sometimes level 8, gusts to level 9, waves 3-5m high, rough seas. In the North East Sea, the Northeast wind gradually increases to level 7-8, gusts to level 9-10, waves 4-6m high. From November 18, the sea area from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai has strong winds of level 6-7, gusts to level 8-9, waves 4-6m high, rough seas.

The meteorological agency warns people to monitor updates continuously and proactively prevent severe cold, prolonged heavy rain and other dangerous weather phenomena.
