Information about the Sam Mountain Lady Festival in Chau Doc

On May 23, speaking at the press conference, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan - Permanent Vice Chairman of Chau Doc City People's Committee, An Giang province - said that the Festival of Lady of Sam Mountain takes place from May 22 to June 3.

The highlight of this year's festival is the opening ceremony of the Ba Chua Xu festival on Sam mountain (combined with the 10th anniversary celebration of this festival being included in the list of national intangible cultural heritage) scheduled to take place at 7:30 p.m. on May 28, at Vinh Dong Trade Center, Nui Sam ward, Chau Doc city.

On May 29, the procession of the Lady's statue and the street festival will take place at the Martyrs' Stele House, the area where the Lady resides on top of Sam Mountain and the Temple of the Lady of the Mountain.

According to Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan, the organization of the Sam Mountain Lady Festival in 2024 aims to promote and introduce to domestic and international friends the potential, strengths, scenic spots, historical and cultural relics, and people of Chau Doc and An Giang. Thereby, attracting investment and visitors to the friendly and hospitable land of Chau Doc.

According to statistics, in 2023, there will be 5 million visitors coming to worship and visit tourist attractions in Chau Doc City. Since the beginning of the year, Chau Doc City has attracted over 3.8 million visitors to visit and worship.
