Collecting DNA samples from relatives of more than 9,000 unidentified martyrs

According to statistics, in Ha Nam province there are currently 17,573 martyrs, of which 9,219 martyrs have not been identified.

After having a plan to collect DNA for relatives of unidentified martyrs, Ha Nam Provincial Police urgently organized the implementation. On October 15, Ha Nam Provincial Police coordinated with the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order, the Ministry of Public Security and testing units to organize a program to collect DNA samples from relatives of martyrs whose information has not been identified.

According to the plan, the collection of genetic samples from martyrs’ relatives will be carried out in several phases. In the first phase, Ha Nam Provincial Police will coordinate to collect samples from 140 mothers of martyrs in districts, towns and cities in the area for 2 days from October 15 to 16 to conduct identification, gradually building a gene bank.

For cases with difficulty in traveling, Ha Nam Provincial Police will arrange forces to collect samples directly at the home of the martyr's relatives.

On the occasion of the program's implementation, Ha Nam Provincial Police and the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order, Ministry of Public Security visited and presented gifts to relatives of unidentified martyrs who participated in sample collection.
