On the afternoon of October 29th, a delegation from the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Hoi, worked with the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Social Insurance Agency of Kon Tum province to assess the implementation of labour, invalids and social affairs work during the first 10 months of 2024.

In recent times, Kon Tum province has paid close attention to and actively implemented labor, employment, and social security measures, achieving many positive results. In the past 10 months, the province has disbursed benefits to nearly 5,000 beneficiaries, totaling over 14 billion VND; organized visits and presented over 18,370 gifts to beneficiaries during holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year); provided electricity subsidies to over 16,260 poor and policy-beneficiary households with a budget of over 10.3 billion VND; and implemented vocational training and job placement programs for over 6,300 workers, exceeding 97% of the assigned plan. To date, over 61,960 people in the province participate in social insurance and over 35,690 people participate in unemployment insurance. In implementing labor, employment, and social security programs, the locality faces some difficulties in carrying out the national target program for sustainable poverty reduction due to obstacles in the central government's mechanisms; the work of encouraging drug rehabilitation and managing drug addicts is quite challenging because the province does not yet have drug rehabilitation facilities…
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Van Hoi highly appreciated the efforts of the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Social Insurance of Kon Tum province in implementing labour and employment work and ensuring social security; he requested that in the coming time, agencies and units continue to effectively implement the tasks and duties of 2024; in particular, focusing on fully and promptly implementing policies for war invalids, poor households, social welfare beneficiaries and workers in the province, especially choosing appropriate forms of subsidy payment to suit local realities. Regarding the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Hoi requested the department to further enhance the effectiveness of the hotline to ensure the care and protection of children; pay attention to the disbursement of funds for vocational education and prepare well for the 2025 Tet holiday for poor households and war invalids. Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Hoi expressed his hope that the Provincial Social Insurance Agency would continue to closely follow the directives and orientations of the central and provincial governments to achieve the targets for health insurance and social insurance coverage; and promote the application of information technology in carrying out its assigned tasks.
