After inspecting the construction of the A2 Territorial Sea baseline marker at Hon Da Le on Hon Khoai Island (Tan An Commune, Ngoc Hien District, Ca Mau), Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa and the working delegation visited and worked with the leaders of Hon Khoai Border Guard Station.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa said: Implementing Official Dispatch No. 1599/VPCP-NC dated August 29, 2014 of the Prime Minister on approving the project of investing in the construction of the Territorial Sea base point used to calculate the width of the Territorial Sea in Vietnam's sea. Accordingly, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment is assigned to preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of National Defense to carry out the task of building a system of Territorial Sea base markers in Vietnam's sea from point A1 at Hon Nhan, Tho Chu, Kien Giang province to point A11 at Con Co island, Quang Tri province, including point A2 at Hon Da Le on Hon Khoai island managed by Hon Khoai Border Guard Station, Ca Mau province.
"The A2 Territorial Sea baseline marker at Hon Da Le on Hon Khoai Island has also been assigned by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to the Department of Surveying, Mapping and Geographic Information of Vietnam in coordination with Ha Do Group Joint Stock Company to implement and complete in 2023, at the same time, put into management, contributing to protecting the sovereignty of sea borders and islands in Vietnam's waters," said Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa.
On behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa congratulated the officers and soldiers of the Ca Mau Provincial Border Guard Command and the officers and soldiers of Hon Khoai Border Guard Station for completing the tasks assigned by the Ministry of National Defense to protect the sovereignty and borders of the Fatherland in the past time; at the same time, she hoped that the officers and soldiers of Hon Khoai Border Guard Station would continue to promote the spirit of solidarity to successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Ministry of National Defense.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa said that the completion of the A2 Territorial Sea baseline marker at Hon Da Le was a great effort by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and related ministries and branches in the past time. Therefore, in order to effectively manage the A2 Territorial Sea baseline marker in the coming time, officers and soldiers of Hon Khoai Border Guard Station need to regularly pay attention to inspecting, maintaining, repairing and protecting the markers, contributing to protecting Vietnam's sovereignty over seas and islands.
At this working session, Major Trinh Cong Tu, Deputy Head of Hon Khoai Border Guard Station, also briefly reported to Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa and the working delegation on the results of the implementation of tasks in the first months of 2024 of Hon Khoai Border Guard Station; at the same time, Major Trinh Cong Tu also said that Hon Khoai Border Guard Station will also regularly inspect and promptly maintain and repair the A2 Territorial Sea base marker at Hon Da Le, contributing to protecting Vietnam's sovereignty over seas and islands.

On this occasion, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa and members of the Ministry's working delegation witnessed the signing and handover ceremony of the A2 Territorial Sea baseline marker at Hon Da Le, Hon Khoai Island between the Department of Surveying, Mapping and Geographic Information of Vietnam and Hon Khoai Border Guard Station, Tan An Commune People's Committee. On this working visit, on behalf of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa presented a gift to Hon Khoai Border Guard Station.
Also during this working trip, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa and the Ministry's delegation visited and worked with Dat Mui Border Guard Station. After listening to the report of the leaders of Dat Mui Border Guard Station on the implementation of tasks in the first 6 months of 2024 and the direction and tasks for the last 6 months of 2024, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa congratulated the officers and soldiers of Dat Mui Border Guard Station for completing the tasks assigned by the Ministry of National Defense to protect the sovereignty and borders of the Fatherland in the past time.
At the same time, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa hopes that officers and soldiers of Dat Mui Border Guard Station will continue to strive to overcome difficulties to successfully complete assigned tasks. On this occasion, on behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa also presented a gift to Dat Mui Border Guard Station.
