(MPI) – On August 29, 2024, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Planning and Investment , Deputy Minister Do Thanh Trung had a meeting with Mr. Wang Hai Huai, General Director of China Communications Construction Corporation (CCCC).

Speaking at the reception, Deputy Minister Do Thanh Trung welcomed Mr. Wang Hai Huai and the delegation to visit and work at the Ministry of Planning and Investment; emphasizing the investment cooperation opportunities between Vietnam and China, in which enterprises play an important role in realizing high-level agreements between the two Parties and the two States.

Mr. Wang Hai Huai thanked the Ministry of Planning and Investment for taking the time to welcome the delegation and expressed his impression of Vietnam's socio- economic development. At the same time, he said that CCCC is a leading provider of large-scale infrastructure, developing many countries and territories; Southeast Asia is a key market with many large projects. Currently, the Group operates mainly in areas such as investment, construction and operation of transport infrastructure projects, heavy industrial equipment manufacturing, real estate and urban development.

Regarding the development of CCCC in Vietnam, he said that the Group has been building and developing in Vietnam for more than 30 years and always considers this an important market. CCCC's projects mainly focus on areas such as infrastructure, ports, highways, and wind power. Therefore, through the working trip to Vietnam, the Group hopes to have deeper discussions with ministries and branches about its areas of advantage.

Vietnam has a very significant speed of internationalization and reformed policies, which are increasingly improved, which greatly supports businesses, including CCCC; along with that, the political situation is stable, the socio-economy is developing rapidly, there are many potentials and advantages, therefore, CCCC wishes to invest and do business in Vietnam for the long term, Mr. Wang Hai Huai emphasized.

The Deputy Minister highly appreciated and expressed his impression of the scale, strengths and achievements in the Group's investment and business activities globally, especially in road, railway, energy and renewable energy infrastructure projects; and said that CCCC's projects in Vietnam are highly appreciated and in line with the development orientation of Vietnam's industries and sectors.

The Deputy Minister said that Vietnam is focusing on developing infrastructure and the electricity sector, especially renewable energy and green energy. Regarding transportation, the focus is on the highway and railway systems, including the North-South high-speed railway and urban railways, focusing on two cities: Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The Deputy Minister also emphasized Vietnam's priority infrastructure development projects, including the North-South high-speed railway, the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong, Hanoi - Dong Dang, Hai Phong - Ha Long - Mong Cai railways, connecting Vietnam's economy with Chinese provinces and between Vietnam and a number of other countries. At the same time, he said that the resources to implement these projects are very large. Therefore, Vietnam will mobilize investment resources from public and private investment; and hopes that CCCC will research and participate in Vietnam's priority infrastructure development projects.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment is always committed to supporting and accompanying foreign-invested enterprises, including CCCC, to resolve difficulties and problems in the process of investing and doing business in Vietnam, Deputy Minister Do Thanh Trung emphasized./.
