At the regular Government Press Conference in August 2025 organized by the Government Office on the afternoon of September 6, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh emphasized that the A80 event series affirmed that the path of the past 80 years under the leadership of the Party was correct, thereby consolidating and building firm belief in the Party's leadership and the path ahead.
“Up to now, we are still living in the echoes of Independence Day, the echoes of the parades, marches and many other activities of our country, our people celebrating the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2,” Mr. Binh shared and said that many people said that this year’s “Independence Day” is a “patriotic combo” when they go out to watch the parade, go to the exhibition and the image of people lining up, buying popcorn to watch the movie “Red Rain.”
Foreign reporters and press were very surprised.
From the perspective of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr. Binh said that the very good results of the past few days are the efforts of many forces, of central and local ministries and branches, and the efforts of the people under the leadership of the Politburo , the Secretariat, headed by General Secretary To Lam.
Especially often, the Central Steering Committee celebrates major holidays and historical events of the nation, with the Head of the Steering Committee being the Standing Secretary of the Secretariat, Tran Cam Tu, and the Deputy Head of the Steering Committee being Nguyen Trong Nghia.
“In the past few days, people have been jokingly saying that the Party and the State have been very careful in arranging the 79 marching and marching blocs. The 80th bloc is the people. The people have created the foundation for this entire event,” Mr. Binh said.
The world is also very interested because Vietnam's activities are very special.
“The forces participating in the parade demonstrated the strength of our armed forces, including the people's army, the people's police, and the most beautiful image was the image of walking in the arms of the people. The world was surprised and curious that our people came out in large numbers, waiting to see the forces and sharing a lot with each other, which is something that is hard to see anywhere else in the world. And the order, security, and social safety of the country and the capital in that context were also very beautiful. The foreign press was very surprised,” said Mr. Binh.
According to Mr. Binh, the entire significance of those days, especially the role of the people, was emphasized by General Secretary To Lam in his speech on the occasion of the Anniversary at the historic Ba Dinh Square. The speech was about 1,480 words long, very brief, but in it, the People were mentioned 17 times, the Nation was mentioned 13 times, Independence was mentioned 10 times and the Fatherland was mentioned 9 times.
“We especially remember a very short and concise sentence in the General Secretary’s speech. That is, strength belongs to the people, from the people and for the people,” Mr. Binh emphasized.
In addition, according to Mr. Binh, parallel to the above important event is the Exhibition "80 years of the journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness." As of September 5, nearly 5 million people have visited and the Exhibition is still welcoming visitors.
According to Mr. Binh, the above activities are an affirmation that the path of the past 80 years under the leadership of the Party and Uncle Ho that our people have taken is the right path, going through resistance wars to gain independence, freedom, and national reunification.
“Up to today, we have built this foundation, built a peaceful Vietnam, making many other countries look at it and be surprised. That is the right path,” Mr. Binh stated his opinion.
Mr. Binh also mentioned a series of historical meanings and values of the A80 event, which are belief in the Party's leadership, belief in the path forward and belief in the strength of our people, the strength of great solidarity of our nation, including both hard power and soft power, the endogenous strength of the nation.
Besides, the above event also left behind a sense of gratitude. Gratitude to our ancestors as mentioned in the speech of General Secretary To Lam: “We are grateful to our ancestors who built the country. We are also grateful to those who sacrificed their blood and bones over the past 80 years, sacrificed their youth and sweat and tears to build our country today. This gratitude is both a tradition of our people and a love for the country.”

“The next meaning is pride. The more we love our country, the more we participate in events, the more we watch events, the more we love our country and feel proud. We are proud of our country, proud of our people, proud of the people's army, the people's police, and proud of the cultural beauty of our people,” said Mr. Binh.
Oath of honor before history and before the people
Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh also said that in recent days, people across the country have been proud of the great policy of the Party, the State and the Government in giving gifts to every Vietnamese citizen on this occasion.
“We are also proud of the gestures of the people on the street. As long as someone starts shouting ‘as if Uncle Ho were here on the great victory day’, all the people will sing together. That is the cultural beauty of the Vietnamese people, showing the patriotism of the Vietnamese people,” Mr. Binh proudly shared.
According to Mr. Binh, the A80 event also aroused an aspiration to grow, a desire to develop further, a desire to be worthy of the efforts of our predecessors, of Uncle Ho's wishes and worthy of the young generation.
“General Secretary To Lam said that children born at this time will be the owners of the country by 2045. Therefore, together we build and develop Vietnam for the young generation. And implementing Resolution 71 is also a contribution to this story,” Mr. Binh emphasized.
In addition, the above historical event is also a message to the international community about a peaceful, independent, friendly Vietnam, implementing an independent, self-reliant, multilateral and diversified foreign policy. From there, it contributes to peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
In the A80 event, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism commanded 4,600 people to arrange letters on the stands, 1,600 people to participate in the Red Flag block, 160 people to participate in the parade block, including typical artists, 80 singers from the 3 regions of North, Central and South, 2,000 extras to participate in the art performance program at the end of the ceremony.
“We would like to express our sincere thanks to the participation of journalists, reporters, editors, and technicians from all press agencies who have actively promoted and provided information during the recent events,” said Mr. Binh.
Mr. Binh said that according to statistics, recently, there have been 15,844 news articles about these events, we have created a very beautiful wave such as Radiant Vietnam, Proud of Vietnam, Proud of Vietnam. Along with that, there have been nearly 600,000 short video clips shared with 20 million likes, 2 million shares and especially 1 billion views.
Mr. Binh emphasized that never before have images of Vietnam been spread so beautifully within the country and internationally. In the coming days, Mr. Binh said that the ministry hopes that the press will continue to spread and multiply the echoes and meanings that I have just shared, so that we can continue to reach the finish line in 2025 in all fields as well as in the coming years.
“In the speech of the General Secretary, there is a sentence: Developing the country until 2045 is an oath of honor before history and before the people. This oath is from all living Vietnamese people to their ancestors, to those who have passed away and to future generations,” Mr. Binh emphasized./.
