Speaking at the reception, Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu congratulated the Association on the occasion of its 30th anniversary of establishment and development, and highly appreciated the Association's important and lasting contributions in fostering friendship and deep cooperation between the people of the two countries, especially between Vietnam and the Kansai region - Japan's leading center of industry, finance and innovation.
Expressing his delight at the strong and substantial development in all areas of the Vietnam-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the Permanent Deputy Minister emphasized the special position and role of the Kansai region, which accounts for more than 30% of Japan's total investment capital in Vietnam and about 25% of bilateral trade turnover, and is also home to more than 100,000 Vietnamese people living, studying and working. Kansai is also the region with more than 10 pairs of local cooperative relations with Vietnamese provinces and cities - a vivid demonstration of the depth and vitality of the bilateral relationship.
Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu affirmed that the potential for cooperation between Vietnam and Japan, especially with the Kansai region, is still very large. He suggested that the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association in the Kansai region continue to promote its role as a bridge, strengthen the connection between the governments and businesses of both sides, promote cooperation in areas where Vietnam has demand and Japan has strengths such as processing industry, supporting industry, high-tech agriculture , healthcare, elderly care, and at the same time link investment activities with technology transfer and training of high-quality human resources.
Thanking the Association for its active support to the Vietnamese community in Kansai, the Permanent Deputy Minister requested the Association to continue to mobilize local authorities to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live, study and work stably; thereby promoting its role as a bridge of friendship, contributing to the socio -economic development of Kansai as well as the cooperative relationship between the two countries. The Deputy Minister also hoped that the Association would closely coordinate and support the activities of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Osaka, joining hands to deepen the bilateral relationship.
For his part, President Nishimura Teiichi expressed his honor to meet Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu on the special occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Association's establishment; highly appreciated the rapid, trustworthy and substantive development of the Vietnam-Japan friendship and cooperation in recent times.
Accepting the opinion of the Permanent Deputy Minister, he affirmed that the Association will continue to promote its role as a bridge between businesses, organizations and localities in the Kansai region with Vietnamese partners, especially in the fields of supporting industries, education, healthcare, elderly care and human resource development - contributing to promoting people-to-people exchange, enhancing understanding, and strengthening the Vietnam-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
