Promoting friendly cooperation in Vietnam sports

The discussion took place at two ends: the General Department of Sports and Physical Training Headquarters in Hanoi and the Studio of China Central Radio and Television Station.

In his opening speech, Mr. Dang Ha Viet, Vice President of the Vietnam Olympic Committee and Director General of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training, stated that today's seminar once again demonstrated the cooperation between Vietnam and China, and continued to be a favorable opportunity for the two countries to continue to exchange and learn about new areas in sports management and development and the Olympic movement in the future.

“ The delegates from both countries also discussed issues related to sports economics , career guidance for athletes after retirement, and protection of athletes’ rights. And through this event, we will contribute to strengthening solidarity, friendship, mutual understanding, and enhancing the sports spirit of both countries in accordance with the Olympic slogan: Faster – Higher – Stronger and Together. We hope that this discussion will contribute to promoting and bringing the Olympic movement of both countries to new heights, ” said Mr. Viet.

From the Chinese side, Professor Ha Van Nghia - General Secretary of the Sports Economics Research Institute of Peking University, Teacher of the Olympic Champion Athletes Class, put forward a number of proposals for Vietnamese Sports to refer to, first of all improving infrastructure, then encouraging Federations, Associations, and sports enterprises to develop healthily.

“ Organizing sports competitions is an important content and basis for national and city brands to be enhanced and their influence expanded. On the other hand, Vietnam can actively attract international-level competitions. In addition, further development of sports consumption must start from the youth. Strive to develop mass sports, this is a very important part, ” said Professor Ha Van Nghia.

“ Next, actively promote cross-border integration between the sports industry and other related industries, combined with Vietnam's reality. Promote the integration of sports with community lifestyle, real estate, tourism, agriculture, training, healthcare, science and technology, expand international cooperation, achieve mutually beneficial results, ” Professor Ha Van Nghia added.

Attending the discussion, Mr. Do Viet Hung - General Secretary of the Vietnam Electronic Entertainment Sports Association, stated that in September, E-Sport will become an official competition at the 19th ASIAD in Hangzhou. This will be an opportunity to promote the development of the E-Sport market, especially in the Southeast Asian region, and at the same time, a promising area of cooperation between China and Vietnam.

“ The discussion is also very timely, in the context of Vietnamese sports heading towards ASIAD. Chinese e-sports is currently in the number 1 group in many disciplines. Through today's discussion, we listen and share information with Chinese experts so that we can receive advice on how to continue to perceive, adjust, and advise the leaders of the sports industry in Vietnam to have appropriate policies and mechanisms, while promoting the development of Vietnamese e-sports in the right direction and quality ", Mr. Hung affirmed.

Also at the seminar, delegates from the two countries discussed the topic of job arrangements for athletes after retirement, emphasizing that only by relieving this worry can athletes feel secure in pursuing and dedicating themselves to their sports careers, to witness good athletes trying their best to compete for the national flag and colors.
