On September 10, speaking at the mock session of the “Children’s National Assembly”, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue stated that the Party, the State and the whole society always pay special attention and care to children. President Ho Chi Minh - the beloved leader of the Vietnamese people - always placed his trust and expectations in the young generation, the future owners of the country, continuing the revolutionary cause of their ancestors. He advised: “Cultivating the next generation of revolutionaries is a very important and necessary task”. Inheriting and developing President Ho Chi Minh’s viewpoint on protecting, caring for andeducating children, our Party has put forth a consistent system of viewpoints on caring for, protecting and educating children, identifying the responsibilities of the entire Party, all levels, sectors and the whole society. The 13th National Congress of the Party affirmed the policy: "Caring for the nurturing, education, comprehensive development and ensuring the rights of children; providing the best conditions and the most attentive care for children - the future of the country".

Emphasizing that Vietnam is the first country in Asia and the second in the world to ratify the Convention on the Rights of the Child, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said that the National Assembly and the Government have issued many legal documents to affirm the rights of children and the responsibilities of state agencies, families, schools and society in caring for, educating and protecting children.

Although many important and comprehensive results have been achieved, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue also said that the work of educating, caring for and protecting children still faces many difficulties and challenges. Many children in mountainous and highland areas, and ethnic minority children do not have enough conditions to access high-quality educational and health care services, and have not been well-nourished. Disabled children, orphans, and children without a place to rely on still need more attention from state agencies and society. The situation of children being subjected to violence, abuse, accidents, and injuries, especially drowning, still occurs in many localities; many children are being negatively affected by information on the internet; the situation of children lacking healthy, useful, and safe playgrounds is still quite common. This situation shows that we still have a lot to do to better protect and care for the future generations of the country.
