OCOP standard food serving tourists
Before arriving at Khe Co community tourism site in Quang Phuc village, Tam Dinh commune, Tuong Duong mountainous district, we visited the farm of Ms. Lo Thi Tham - where OCOP standard chicken eggs are produced. According to Mr. Vi Van Thang - Chairman of Tam Dinh Commune People's Committee, this is a source of food to serve tourists coming to Khe Co community tourism site.

Following Mrs. Lo Thi Tham around the farm, she carried a basket and picked up chicken eggs while introducing: Chicken food is made from vegetables and banana tree trunks fermented with corn bran and rice bran.
Every few days, the flock of more than 200 chickens will be supplemented with a mixture of bananas - bran - fish meal, in addition to green vegetables such as cassava, fermented banana stems, and homegrown green vegetables. Thanks to that, each day the flock of chickens produces about 30 eggs, not enough to sell. Mostly, local people come to order, or buy all of them on the same day. Near the opening day of Khe Co tourism festival (from April 29-30), Ms. Lo Thi Tham has to save some chicken eggs to serve tourists.

In addition to raising chickens, Mrs. Tham's farm also raises about 300 ducks, geese, and more than 30 bamboo rats. Every day, Mrs. Tham harvests more than 100 poultry eggs, chicken eggs sell for 5,000 VND each, goose eggs for 20,000 VND each.
Mr. Vi Van Thang said that the chicken egg product has just been recognized as meeting OCOP standards by the end of 2024. This is the first success in the orientation of green and clean agricultural production in Tam Dinh, associated with the operating criteria of Khe Co Agricultural Service and Tourism Cooperative.

In addition to chicken eggs, the traditional dishes included in the list of dishes served to tourists in Khe Co are mostly produced, grown or naturally harvested by local people such as: chicken, pig, duck, moss, wild bamboo shoots, wild vegetables, stream fish, etc.
For example, Mr. Kha Van Tha's household in Quang Yen village is currently maintaining a herd of 200 chickens, 30 goats, and 40 black pigs. Mr. Tha's farm also grows cassava, elephant grass, bananas, and corn to provide food for his livestock.
Mr. Tha said that for more than 2 years now, his family has been raising livestock in a green and clean manner following the instructions of district and commune officials, showing clear results as livestock products are always favored by the market.

In particular, at Khe Co tourism festivals, teams participating in traditional cuisine competitions always order ingredients from the farm. Many restaurants and eateries serving at Khe Co community tourism sites also regularly order products from the farms of local people such as Kha Van Tha's family.
The leader of Tam Dinh Commune People's Committee said that the whole commune currently maintains a herd of more than 2,400 buffaloes and cows, a herd of nearly 700 goats, more than 42,000 poultry and 150 fish cages on the river and 5 hectares of fish in ponds and lakes. From this source of agricultural products, the culinary services at Khe Co tourist site are always diverse and of guaranteed quality.

Preserving local character
When starting tourism, Khe Co people were always aware of preserving and promoting cultural identity into a unique feature to attract tourists.
Currently, Quang Phuc village has 3 homestays which are wooden stilt houses nestled under the shade of cool green trees, providing accommodation and resting services after visitors have bathed in the stream and enjoyed the cuisine grown, raised and prepared by the local people.

Experiencing tourism services in Khe Co, we realized that the unique feature of community tourism here is the cooperation and contribution of local people in organizing folk games, drinking rice wine, carving beds, beating gongs, dancing on bamboo poles, and dancing with Lam Vong...
Members of the Thai ethnic gong, furrow carving and bamboo dancing club in Quang Phuc village are also hard-working farmers who are passionate about folk dancing and singing. Before the opening day of the Khe Co community tourism festival, the streets were decorated with flags and flowers. Shops, stages and accommodation facilities were neatly decorated by the people and the government to be green, clean and beautiful.

In households, the atmosphere of preparing to welcome the "tourist season" of bathing in streams and enjoying the cuisine of the people is also quite busy. On social networking sites, there are shares and images of services at Khe Co community tourism site, of the stopover of the red and yellow Sang Le forest in the changing season - a forest over 300 years old that is preserved at the national level.

Located next to National Highway 7, about 2km from Tuong Duong Sang Le forest, Khe Co tourist destination attracts tourists thanks to its beauty and diversity in culinary and resting forms. This place has many natural landscapes, many entertainment and eco-tourism spots, of which Khe Co is becoming a new destination and is increasingly sought after by many people, especially during the hot summer in Quang Phuc village. Around Khe Co, there are also many shops, camps and homestays serving tourists to rest.
Khe Co is combined with other destinations in Tuong Duong such as: Sang Le forest (Tam Dinh), primeval cold forest (Tam Hop), dwarf forest in Pu Mat nature reserve (Tam Quang), Pu Huong nature reserve (Nga My), many beautiful caves Huu Khuong, Yen Thang, Xa Luong, Tam Dinh, Tam Quang... Tuong Duong also has the large Ban Ve and Khe Bo hydroelectric lakes, creating countless oases and beautiful caves such as: Tham Nam, Tham Keo, promising very attractive eco-tourism destinations.
