Actively preparing for the 6th Cham Cultural Festival

On the afternoon of October 27, comrade Nguyen Long Bien - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to listen to the leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism report on the preparations for the 6th Cham Ethnic Cultural Festival in 2025.

The Cham ethnic cultural festival is scheduled to take place from December 5 to 7, with the theme "Preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the Cham ethnic group in the new era". The main activities of the festival will take place at April 16 Square (Phan Rang ward and Dong Hai ward), with the participation of nearly 600 artisans and artists from 6 provinces and cities including: Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, An Giang and Ho Chi Minh City. In addition to the opening and closing ceremonies, the festival also has activities such as: Cham ethnic costume performance; performance and introduction of festival excerpts, traditional cultural rituals of the Cham ethnic group; display, introduction and promotion of traditional Cham ethnic culture in the locality; performance and introduction of traditional crafts of the Cham ethnic group; contest of Cham ethnic folk games; photo exhibition "Cham ethnic people accompany the development of the country"; exhibition on "Cultural characteristics of the Cham people in the cultural community of Vietnamese ethnic groups"; workshop on "Promoting the value of Cham cultural heritage in tourism development"...

After listening to the opinions of the meeting participants, comrade Nguyen Long Bien emphasized: There is not much time left from now until the event, so each agency and unit, especially the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, needs to urgently, actively and proactively deploy the necessary work contents. In particular, urgently complete the plan to organize the festival to submit to the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee for signing and promulgation; develop a roadmap, progress, and specific time for each content and program of the festival; soon consult the Steering Committee for the Cham Ethnic Cultural Festival 2025 with the members being the leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the provincial leaders; quickly select the appropriate unit to carry out the activities in the festival. He requested that departments, branches, and localities need to develop detailed plans on security and order, ensure traffic safety, environmental sanitation, and food safety; and at the same time, pay attention to reporting the progress of work every week.
