Mr. Huynh Kim Tuan, Director of the Trade and Service Cooperative of Ward 1, My Tho City (Tien Giang) said that the new law on cooperatives has created new strength for cooperatives because there are specific regulations for cooperatives to be able to develop on their own.
Up to now, the cooperative has more than 450 employees, with an average income of nearly 10 million VND/person/month, instead of the previous years when each member had an income of over 5 million VND/month.
According to Mr. Tuan, the activities of the Trade and Service Cooperative of Ward 1, My Tho City develop every year. Currently, this cooperative is perfecting the wholesale system, expanding the retail system, meeting consumer needs, creating prestige and being competitive with other units and increasing annual income for employees. With a revenue of about 1,000 billion VND/year, the cooperative has just received the Second Class Labor Medal from the State.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Director of My Trung Agricultural Service Cooperative (My Trung commune, Cai Be district, Tien Giang province) said that the cooperative specializes in providing rice seeds, agricultural materials, and product consumption, ensuring output for people.
Currently, the Cooperative has cooperated with enterprises to purchase rice from members at a price 500 VND/kg higher than the market price. The Cooperative has also been supporting members in applying science and technology, so production costs have decreased, productivity has increased, and output has been stable. In the coming time, the Cooperative will support direct purchase of all rice fields from members, helping members of the Cooperative feel secure in production.
Tien Giang province currently has 94 cooperatives and 1 agricultural cooperative union. Cooperatives operate in many fields such as agriculture, handicrafts, transportation and construction. Trade and service cooperatives operate in an innovative direction linked to market demand, meeting the production and living needs of members and workers.
