Received from the people a rare and endangered pig-tailed macaque

On October 27, Truong Son Commune Police, Quang Tri Province, said they had just received a pig-tailed macaque belonging to group IIB, an endangered and rare wild animal, from the people.

Specifically, in the morning of the same day, when the functional forces including: forest rangers, police, border guards came to propagate and mobilize people to protect wild animals in the villages, Mr. Ho Van Duong (born in 1957), Rin Rin village, Truong Son commune contacted and voluntarily handed over a pig-tailed macaque belonging to group IIB, weighing 2 kg. According to Mr. Duong, he found the monkey in an injured state while working in the fields so he brought it home to raise.

Immediately after receiving the animal, the authorities verified and completed the procedures according to legal regulations and prepared to hand it over to the Rescue, Conservation and Development Center of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park...

According to Truong Son Commune Police, recently, through propaganda and mobilization, many people in the commune have voluntarily handed over wild animals such as rare hornbills, red-faced monkeys... The unit has also coordinated with relevant authorities to release them back into the natural environment...
