On December 7, in Hoa Binh province, the Ministry of Information and Communications coordinated with the People's Committee of Hoa Binh province and relevant agencies to organize a Training Conference on external information work on human rights.

The conference is one of the first three training conferences to directly deploy Project 1079 to human rights and foreign information forces in all 63 provinces and cities nationwide. This is also the third training conference this year, aiming to implement the project on Communication on human rights in Vietnam for the period 2023 - 2028. The conference was attended by officials in charge of foreign information work in 26 provinces and cities, central and local press agencies. The conference took place at a time when the world is celebrating the 75th anniversary of World Human Rights Day (December 10, 1948 - December 10, 2023).

In his opening speech, Director of the Department of External Information Pham Anh Tuan said: The conference aims to disseminate and thoroughly understand the contents of the Project on communication on human rights according to Decision No. 1079/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister. Providing information, situation, and guidance on external information work to further enhance the quality and content of information and propaganda work on human rights in the mass media, timely and objective information on the efforts and achievements of authorities at all levels in ensuring human rights at the local level, contributing to the fight to convincingly refute wrong views, taking advantage of human rights and democracy issues to sabotage Vietnam by hostile forces.
He asked delegates to share experiences and good, creative ways of doing communication and external information on human rights in their localities, especially building coordination mechanisms between forces, specialized agencies and the press and media.
At the Conference, representatives of the Central Steering Committee for External Information, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, the Standing Office of the Government Steering Committee for Human Rights, the Department of External Information (Ministry of Information and Communications) provided information on the current situation of cooperation and external communications on the issues of democracy, human rights, ethnicity, religion and the role and contributions of Vietnam in the first year of its membership of the United Nations Human Rights Council for the 2023-2025 term; Requirements for external communications and information on human rights; Update on the situation and outstanding results of Vietnam in ensuring and promoting human rights.
