Promoting cooperation between Vietnamese and Lao courts

The two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation between courts at all levels, encourage the establishment of online exchange channels to share documents and experiences, and coordinate the settlement of cases with cross-border elements.

On the afternoon of October 28, in Hanoi , Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Le Minh Tri held talks with Ms. Viengthong Siphandon, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chief Justice of the Lao Supreme People's Court, who is visiting and working in Vietnam.

Welcoming the delegation of the Lao Supreme People's Court to visit and work in Vietnam, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Le Minh Tri expressed his joy that the visit contributes to further promoting the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, while opening up more practical, effective and profound directions for cooperation in the judicial field between the two countries.

At the meeting between the Chief Justices of the Supreme People's Courts of the two countries, the two sides reviewed the good results of cooperation between the Courts of the two countries in recent times, informed about the judicial reform of each country; and discussed the re-signing of the Cooperation Agreement between the two Supreme People's Courts (signed in 2008) and promoting cooperation between local Courts after Vietnam reorganized its administrative units.

The two sides agreed to continue to strengthen cooperation between courts at all levels, encourage the establishment of online exchange channels to share documents and experiences, and coordinate the resolution of cases with cross-border elements.

At the end of the talks, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court of Vietnam Le Minh Tri presented the Lao Supreme People's Court with ten laptops and affirmed that the Supreme People's Court of Vietnam is always ready to support the Lao Supreme People's Court in sharing experiences in judicial reform, training officials, applying information technology and digital transformation./.
