TikTok has just officially introduced AI Alive - a feature that first appeared on the platform, allowing users to turn still photos into vivid short videos with just a few steps right in the TikTok Stories section.

According to TikTok, AI Alive uses artificial intelligence (AI) technology to create motion effects for photos, helping users tell stories in a more intuitive and emotional way.

This feature is built directly into Story Camera, allowing even those with no editing experience to create impressive videos, combining motion effects, sound, and creative space.

“Imagine taking a quiet sunset photo and easily turning it into a cinematic video: the sky gradually changes color, the clouds drift gently, the sound of the ocean waves echoes in the distance,” TikTok describes.

TikTok says AI Alive is not just a new creative tool, but also a step forward in how users tell visual stories on the platform.

Or a selfie with friends can come to life, capturing subtle gestures and smiles that the naked eye cannot fully capture. AI Alive opens up a new level of storytelling with everyday images." - TikTok shared.

TikTok affirms that content created by AI Alive will be carefully moderated at many steps to ensure that it does not violate community policies.

Specifically, the original photo, AI description, and post-processed video are all checked by the system before being displayed to users. Finally, before being posted to the Story, there will be a final check. Viewers can also report content if they see violations.

According to TikTok, all Stories created with AI Alive will be labeled “AI-generated” to ensure transparency with viewers.

At the same time, C2PA metadata technology is also integrated, allowing AI to identify the origin even when the video is downloaded or shared off-platform.

Although it has just been launched, AI Alive is not yet available in the Vietnamese market. However, many videos from international users have quickly spread on the platform, revealing a series of interesting experiences and attracting the attention of the Vietnamese TikTok community.

“I will definitely try it as soon as it is available. Hopefully it will be a really interesting experience. However, I also hope that all data will be absolutely secure after using AI Alive” - Ms. Thu Thuy (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) shared.

TikTok Vietnam has not yet announced the official time to deploy AI Alive in Vietnam.

To use the new feature, TikTok instructs users to open Story Camera by tapping the blue “+” icon at the top of their Inbox or Profile page.

Then, select a photo from the Story album and the AI Alive icon will appear on the right toolbar in the photo editing interface.

After creating and posting a Story using AI Alive, other users can view it via For You, Following, or directly from the user's profile.
