Ho Chi Minh City is currently researching and finalizing pre-feasibility reports for five key BOT projects aimed at upgrading transportation infrastructure and improving regional connectivity.
The consulting unit proposed that option one would involve constructing a low-level road with a width of 60m, 10 lanes (2 mixed lanes); and 4 high-speed lanes in the middle. This option would include 7 incomplete grade-separated interchanges; an overpass at the first level; and a metro line at the second level. Additionally, there would be 4 high-speed lanes in an underpass, which would be 20m wide and constructed of reinforced concrete.
According to Mr. Tran Quang Lam, Director of the Department of Transport, regarding the implementation roadmap for BOT projects on 5 existing roads, the unit will submit the pre-feasibility study report to the grassroots-level appraisal council in December 2024 (or at the latest by January 2025).
In the first quarter of 2025, the investment policy will be approved; contractors will be selected to prepare the feasibility study report; surveys will be conducted, feasibility study reports will be prepared, and investor interest will be assessed.
Approve the feasibility study report in Q3/2025.
By the end of 2025, we will select investors and strive to commence construction on the first project.
