Mobile Internet speed in Vietnam records slight increase

According to the latest report, in July 2024, the average mobile broadband download speed in Vietnam reached 54.34 Mbps, a slight increase compared to June (52.4 Mbps).

Mobile Internet speed in Vietnam records continuous increase for 5 months

According to a new data report updated by the i-Speed Internet Access Speed Measurement System by the Vietnam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC, Ministry of Information and Communications ), in July 2024, the average mobile broadband download speed in Vietnam reached 54.34 Mbps, a slight increase compared to the figure of 52.4 Mbps recorded in June 20244. At the same time, the average mobile broadband upload speed reached 21.19 Mbps, equivalent to June 2024.

Mobile Internet Speed in Vietnam Increases for 5 Consecutive Months 1847

Thus, for 5 consecutive months, since March 2024, the average mobile Internet download speed in our country has maintained continuous growth. During this time, the mobile download speed increased from 38.69 Mbps (March) to 54.34 Mbps (July), equivalent to about 40%. This rate increased by about 20% with the mobile upload speed.

With fixed broadband, the average download Internet speed nationwide in July was 100.28 Mbps. The average upload speed in July was 102.34 Mbps.

It is known that the i-Speed Internet access speed measurement system is a tool to measure Vietnam's Internet access speed through user experience objectively and accurately.

The Ministry of Information and Communications regularly publishes data on Internet access service speeds to enhance publicity, transparency and public interest in service provision.

The announcement results also create conditions for people, organizations and businesses to choose services and network operators according to their needs and actual conditions.

Viettel is ranked first in mobile Internet speed.

Regarding the quality of Internet service providers in Vietnam, i-Speed statistics show that Viettel is ranked first in mobile Internet speed.

In July 2024, Viettel users' average mobile Internet download speed reached 65.89 Mbps; average upload speed reached 21.71 Mbps.

In second place is VNPT (download 52.99 Mbps, upload 21.5 Mbps), followed by MobiFone (download 37.19 Mbps, upload 20.59 Mbps) and Vietnamobile (download 10.59 Mbps, upload 3.99 Mbps).

In the fixed broadband segment, statistics in July show that the provider with the best fixed Internet download speed in Vietnam is Viettel (128.97 Mbps). Ranked second is FPT Telecom (100.59 Mbps). Followed by VNPT (95.82 Mbps), SCTV (73.26 Mbps) and Netnam (60.77 Mbps).

According to the recommendation of the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Information and Communications, people, organizations and businesses can regularly use the i-Speed application to measure Internet access speed. This application is completely free, without incurring data charges.
