On the evening of June 4, in Hanoi , the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor solemnly organized the 18th "Glory of Vietnam" program in 2023 to practically celebrate the 75th anniversary of Uncle Ho's call for patriotic emulation (June 11, 1948 - June 11, 2023), to welcome the congresses of trade unions at all levels and the 13th Congress of Vietnam Trade Union.

Attending the program were comrade Do Van Chien, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Party Central Committee members: Nguyen Dinh Khang, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Luong Quoc Doan, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association ; Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics, Vietnam People's Army.

In his opening speech, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang emphasized: The program "Glory of Vietnam" is a major event of profound political and social significance to honor heroic collectives and individuals, emulation fighters nationwide, and advanced models with outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement, building and defending the Fatherland. It has increasingly become a prestigious event in society, attracting the attention of people nationwide, having a positive impact and leaving good impressions in society.

Over 17 times of organization, 258 groups and individuals with outstanding achievements in various fields of life were selected and honored. The typical examples honored in the program have continuously promoted their qualities and experiences, continuing to contribute to serving the people and society.

Thereby, the event creates strong motivation, has widespread influence, contributes to promoting patriotic emulation movements, and makes practical contributions to the development and prosperity of the country.

Speaking at the program, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien highly appreciated the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for its initiative in organizing the program. This has created a widespread influence in society, attracting the working class and laborers to enthusiastically compete, achieve outstanding achievements, and contribute to building and defending the Fatherland.

Comrade Do Van Chien stated: In the first 6 months of 2023, in the context of many unpredictable changes in the world and region, our entire Party, people and army have united to seize favorable opportunities, overcome difficulties and challenges, and strive to achieve many important and comprehensive results in all fields.

Macroeconomic stability has been maintained, economic development has been restored, social security has been ensured, national defense and security have been maintained; Party building, anti-corruption and negativity work have achieved important results. People's trust in the Party and the State has been constantly enhanced.

The Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front stated that it is forecasted that in the coming time, our country will continue to face many difficulties and challenges. "That requires us to be highly determined, take drastic actions, and organize more extensive emulation movements to be able to complete the goals and tasks set out in 2023," emphasized comrade Do Van Chien.

He suggested that the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor continue to study and thoroughly grasp the content of Directive 34-CT/TW of the Politburo on continuing to innovate emulation and reward work; continue to deeply imbue Ho Chi Minh's thought on patriotic emulation "To love the country, one must compete, those who compete are the most patriotic".
