Hanoi, September 13, 2024
LETTERS
OF GENERAL SECRETARY AND PRESIDENT TO LAM
to children and teenagers on the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival 2024
Dear children!
On the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival, Uncle Ho cordially sends to Vietnamese children at home and abroad, and foreigners in Vietnam the warmest and most affectionate feelings.
Mid-Autumn Festival, a children's festival, on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, children gather with their families, grandparents, parents, play together, carry lanterns, dance lion dances, enjoy feasts under the full moon or listen to grandparents, parents tell "fairy tales about Mid-Autumn Festival". And every Mid-Autumn Festival will be a childhood memory of each of us in the future.
I really hope that every Mid-Autumn Festival, the children will have a happier, more fulfilling, and more meaningful festival both materially and spiritually thanks to the care of their families, schools, and society.
I hope you will always be obedient, healthy, study well, be diligent, live with love and ambition; practice well the 5 things Uncle Ho taught to teenagers and children; always be good students, good children; strive to become the pride of your family, clan and nation.
This year’s Mid-Autumn Festival was not complete because natural disasters caused serious consequences for many families, villages, hamlets, and communes. Many children unfortunately lost their lives, many lost their loved ones, lost their homes, and lived in extremely difficult circumstances. I would like to express my deepest condolences to the relatives and families of the children who were victims of the storms and floods, and hope that we all have the courage to overcome this pain and loss.
For children in storm and flood areas, Uncle Ho advised them to always pay attention to safety when studying and playing. Stay away from dangerous places, do not play near rivers, streams, ponds, lakes, and always remember the words of parents and teachers to protect yourself and your friends.
I send all of you my love and hope.
Friendly,
To Lam
