Summary of women's movement and association activities in 2024

This morning, January 9th, the Quang Tri Provincial Women's Union held a conference to summarize the women's movement and union activities in 2024; and signed a competition agreement for 2025. Attending the conference were Mr. Dao Manh Hung, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Tri Province; and Mr. Hoang Nam, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Provincial Committee for the Advancement of Women.

In 2024, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Women's Union focused on leading and directing all levels of the Union to implement the theme of the year's work: "Promoting the application of information technology in Union activities"; proactively carrying out the campaign and the three key tasks of the Union's work; and directing the implementation of the 2024 emulation targets.

Women's Unions at all levels have flexibly and effectively implemented the contents of the work program and plan. The work of advising Party committees and authorities, and coordinating with local departments, agencies, and organizations has been carried out regularly and continuously to effectively implement socio-economic development tasks and care for the lives of the people.

Emphasis should be placed on organizing a mid-term review of the implementation of the Resolutions of the Women's Congress at all levels for the 2021-2026 term.

The association's activities have focused on innovation in form, increased application of information technology in operations to create rich content, and increasingly meeting the needs and aspirations of officials and members.

The dissemination of information about the association's activities and major political events of the homeland and the country has contributed to creating a widespread impact among all cadres, members, and the people.

The various levels of the association organized many activities online, helping officials and members access information on the implementation of national target programs in general and Project 8 "Implementing gender equality and addressing urgent issues for women and children". 100% of the targets set for 2024 were achieved or exceeded.

Specifically, 2,764 poor households with women received assistance in various forms, including targeted sponsorship for 2,073 households with women. 303 of these households escaped poverty or near-poverty, representing 10.9% of the total number of poor households with women.

Through the "Godmother" program, the various levels of the Women's Union have connected and sponsored 221 disadvantaged children, providing support ranging from 1.2 to 7.2 million VND per year, totaling nearly 1.1 billion VND. To date, 620 out of 1687 orphaned children have been connected and sponsored by the Women's Union at all levels...

With its achievements and results, the Provincial Women's Union was ranked by the Presidium of the Vietnam Women's Union as a unit that excellently completed its tasks and was awarded the flag for being the leading unit in the emulation movement in 2024.

For the year 2025, the Provincial Women's Union will focus on implementing the theme: "Promoting the role of women in building a clean and strong Party and political system, ready to enter a new era of the nation"; launching a special emulation campaign to achieve accomplishments in chào mừng the anniversaries of major national and union holidays; directing, concretizing, and creatively and effectively implementing the targets of the Resolution of the 15th Provincial Women's Congress; and effectively carrying out emulation movements, campaigns, breakthroughs, and regular tasks.

In his remarks at the conference, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, Dao Manh Hung, highly appreciated the positive role of women's associations at all levels in the association's movements, contributing to promoting social development.

The application of information technology in operations has positively enhanced management, effectively spreading meaningful and practical movements and models, which have been highly appreciated by the public. It affirms the active and pioneering role of women in many activities that have yielded good results.

At the same time, it is hoped that in the coming time, the Provincial Women's Union will focus on building a strong organization and effectively implementing national target programs and government projects. It should proactively grasp and promptly reflect the ideological situation, especially issues related to the legitimate rights and interests of its members and women...

Continuing to build upon the achievements made, we will successfully complete the tasks and plans for 2025, contributing to the overall development of the province and further strengthening the great national unity.

On this occasion, 14 orphaned children from the "Godmother" program received gifts; and 7 collectives were awarded certificates of merit by the Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in 2024.
