Many areas in Northern Vietnam and from Thanh Hoa to Hue City experienced heavy rain.

On December 13th, many areas in Northern and Central Vietnam experienced moderate to heavy rain, with some places receiving very heavy rainfall exceeding 90mm.

According to the Central Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting Center, scattered rain and showers occurred in the northern region over the past 24 hours, including last night and early this morning (December 13).

Heavy rain is forecast for the next 24-48 hours, specifically on December 13th. The Northeast region, western Phu Tho province, and eastern Son La province will experience moderate to heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms, with rainfall amounts generally ranging from 25-50mm, and some areas experiencing very heavy rain exceeding 90mm.

On the afternoon and night of December 13th, the area from Thanh Hoa to Hue City will experience moderate to heavy rain with rainfall amounts generally ranging from 20-50mm, and locally very heavy rain exceeding 80mm. A warning is issued regarding the risk of heavy rainfall (>80mm/3h). During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.

On December 13th, the Northeast region, western Phu Tho province, and eastern Son La province will experience total rainfall of 25-50mm, with some areas receiving over 90mm. In the afternoon and evening of December 13th, rainfall from Thanh Hoa to Hue City will be 20-50mm, with some areas receiving over 80mm.

Additionally, on the night of December 13th, there was rain and moderate rain in Da Nang City and the eastern part of Quang Ngai province, with rainfall generally ranging from 10-20mm, and locally heavy rain exceeding 40mm in some areas.

From December 14th, heavy rainfall in the aforementioned areas is expected to gradually decrease. The natural disaster risk level warning for heavy rain, tornadoes, lightning, and hail is level 1. The predicted impact of heavy rain is likely to cause flooding in low-lying areas, urban areas, and industrial zones; flash floods on small rivers and streams; and landslides on slopes.
