At approximately 10:30 AM on December 12th, in the area of the southern embankment of Cua Tung Bridge (Bac Son village, Ben Hai commune), the fishing vessel QT-10164-TS, owned by Mr. Tran Van Tinh (born in 1978) and piloted by Mr. Le Van Hai (born in 1974, residing in An Hoa 1 village, Cua Tung commune), encountered large waves while mooring its nets at the Cua Tung estuary. The incident caused damage to the side of the vessel, water flooded into the hull, and the vessel was at risk of sinking.

Immediately after receiving the report, officers and soldiers of the Cua Tung Border Guard Station quickly mobilized and coordinated with the Bac Son Control Station, the police and military forces of Cua Tung and Ben Hai communes, and local people to carry out rescue operations.
Authorities assisted in towing the boat safely ashore, ensuring the safety of the fishermen. The incident resulted in estimated property damage of approximately 5 million VND.

Currently, the weather in the coastal area of Quang Tri province is complex, with frequent large waves and strong winds. The Cua Tung Border Guard Station advises fishermen to closely monitor weather forecasts, equip themselves with adequate safety equipment, and absolutely not be complacent when entering and leaving the harbor, especially during the rough sea period at the end of the year.
