Accordingly, MCNV will implement activities to improve income and employment opportunities for poor ethnic minority women in Huong Lap and Huong Phung communes; and at the same time aim to reduce food insecurity for poor ethnic minority women and children in these localities. The main activities include: Enhancing knowledge and skills for poor women to apply and replicate innovative agricultural and non-agricultural production models; promoting livelihoods that do not cause deforestation; and improving access to and use of safe and nutritious food. The project budget is estimated at approximately 18 billion VND; the implementation period is 36 months.

Speaking at the ceremony, the MCNV representative in Vietnam emphasized that Quang Tri is one of the localities with the longest and strongest cooperative relationship with MCNV in Vietnam. Following the signing ceremony, MCNV will continue to coordinate to finalize the approval documents and conduct detailed surveys in the community to ensure the project activities closely match actual needs.
Next, the representative of the Department of Foreign Affairs thanked the MCNV organization for its continued interest in and support for Quang Tri province. They also expressed confidence that the project's activities would help improve food security and contribute to improving the quality of life for ethnic minority communities, especially poor women in the mountainous areas of Quang Tri province.
MCNV is a Dutch international non-governmental organization, established in 1968. MCNV began collaborating with Quang Tri province in 1973 by supporting the construction of the Dutch Hospital. Since 1993, MCNV has implemented community development programs and projects, and continued to expand its operations into Laos from 2005.
MCNV's main areas of activity include: health development, social inclusion, and community livelihood development adapted to climate change. The beneficiaries of MCNV's programs and projects are the poor, people with disabilities, ethnic minorities, and disadvantaged women and children.
In Quang Tri province, MCNV has 30 years of experience working on various programs and projects, including many implemented in the mountainous areas of Dakrong and Huong Hoa (formerly) districts.
