At the meeting, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc congratulated Qualcomm Group on its successful investment in Vietnam over the past 20 years, especially in the Northern region. He expressed his delight that Qualcomm Vietnam had invested in acquiring VINAI's generative AI division from Vingroup and officially launched the third largest AI research and development center in the world in Vietnam last June. Currently, an AI research team of this center is headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Chairman of the City People's Committee said that after the merger of Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces, the area of Ho Chi Minh City will increase 3 times, creating more room for development. In particular, the Ho Chi Minh City area will focus on developing a financial, trade, service, technology and innovation center; the Binh Duong area will be a production and industrial center; the Ba Ria - Vung Tau area will be an international seaport gateway, developing logistics services and energy industry.

Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc believes that this development orientation is suitable for Qualcomm's field of operation and suggests that the group pay attention to cooperating with Ho Chi Minh City in high-tech fields such as: semiconductors, artificial intelligence, research and development, data centers, training and development of high-tech human resources. The city is committed to creating favorable conditions in terms of investment environment and policy mechanisms to invite foreign high-tech enterprises, including Qualcomm, to invest in the city.
Mr. Cristiano Amon said that he had a successful business trip to Vietnam. During the trip, the delegation met with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, leaders of the Ministry of Science and Technology and large Vietnamese enterprises to discuss opportunities for developing mobile infrastructure, building 5G networks and data centers.
