HCMC: 8 hospitals "join hands" to operate a grade 1 general medical facility in Can Gio

(Dan Tri) - The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued a plan to deploy Tu Du Hospital, branch 2, in Can Gio, operating under the model of a grade 1 general hospital.

According to the plan, Tu Du Hospital 2 will be established on the basis of the infrastructure of Can Gio Regional Medical Center. This is an important part of the project to strengthen and develop Can Gio district's health care by 2030, with a vision to 2045.

In the 2025-2030 period, this facility will receive strong investment to become a 300-bed general hospital.

The hospital will provide a wide range of medical services, from primary medical examination and treatment, inpatient and outpatient treatment, reproductive health care, to rehabilitation, traditional medicine, artificial kidney, testing and diagnostic imaging.

In particular, Tu Du Hospital 2 will be equipped with modern medical equipment, applying artificial intelligence (AI) and high technology in diagnosis and treatment, to improve the quality of population and medical services.

The project aims to ensure that people in Can Gio and surrounding areas have access to high-quality medical services locally, minimizing unnecessary referrals; at the same time, the hospital will also meet the health care needs of tourists and workers at key projects in coastal areas, contributing to promoting the development of medical tourism in Can Gio in the future.

In addition, this facility is also a training practice site for medical students, a place for technology transfer and scientific research cooperation.

Tu Du Hospital 2 will be under the direct management and operation of Tu Du Hospital, under the direct management and operation of the mother hospital. The total number of staff is expected to be 499 people, including specialized departments, paraclinical departments and support management departments.

During the 2025-2030 period, human resources will be mobilized from Tu Du Hospital and 8 leading hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City.

The list includes the City Children's Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City Eye Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City Dental Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City Dermatology Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City Traditional Medicine Hospital, Le Van Thinh Hospital and Rehabilitation - Occupational Disease Treatment Hospital.

These units will send personnel to participate in professional support, short-term rotation (minimum 1 month/session), secondment (minimum 12 months) and remote consultation.

After 2030, the hospital will assess human resource needs and propose appropriate solutions based on the results achieved and future development orientation.

The plan also stipulates a financial mechanism towards autonomy and dependent accounting of Tu Du Hospital, ensuring publicity, transparency, savings and efficiency.

Tu Du Hospital, Branch 2, is expected to become a high-quality medical center in the coastal area, not only ensuring people's health care but also contributing to promoting the development of medical tourism in Can Gio.
