Through inspection, the authorities noted that this area is located on a steep terrain, with a height difference of up to 20m compared to the main alley. Of the 6 houses in the dangerous area, 2 were built on an embankment without a footing, and had landslides and exposed foundations. More seriously, large landslides had formed in front of the porches of some houses, which could continue to collapse if there was heavy rain and strong winds.

Faced with complicated weather conditions and high risk of insecurity, on the evening of November 6, the People's Committee of Vung Tau Ward urgently evacuated 17 households with 81 people to a safe place. The entire area of alley 634/8 has been cordoned off, warning signs have been posted, and access has been strictly controlled. People are not allowed to return to live there without instructions from the authorities.

Mr. Nguyen Tan Ban said that the landslide situation here has appeared since October 2022 and tends to become more serious. The ward is proposing to coordinate with departments and branches and invite geological assessment experts to soon have a fundamental solution, ensuring safety before bringing people back. While waiting for the solution, the local government will support temporary accommodation for households, currently arranged at the Community Cultural - Learning Center (No. 1 Tran Xuan Do).
