Floods washed away the North-South railway section through Dak Lak and Gia Lai

Specifically, at km 1136+850, the section passing through Dak Lak and Gia Lai provinces in the Phuoc Lanh - Van Canh section encountered the most serious incident with an average depth of about 9m.

In addition, many railway sections had their foundations washed away, trees fell across them, signal poles were broken, the national power grid was cut off, leading to loss of communication and dispatch, and many signal communication devices were paralyzed due to flooding...

The railway industry is currently working to repair the landslides. Due to the deep roadbed and strong water flow, the repair and restoration of the railway will depend on weather conditions and the ability to collect water, so there is no official time for the line to be opened.

Also on November 7, due to the impact of storm No. 13 causing heavy rain and strong winds in the area from Quang Ngai to Tuy Hoa, some railway sections were damaged, causing train disruptions. The railway industry plans to transport 1,500 passengers on trains passing through the area, from Tuy Hoa station (Dak Lak) to Dieu Tri station ( Gia Lai ). While waiting for the transfer, the railway industry will serve free snacks and drinks to passengers.

Passengers in the area affected by storm No. 13 can return their tickets free of charge, the return time must be before the train departure time stated on the ticket. Specifically, for passengers with tickets for Even-numbered trains passing through Tuy Hoa station; passengers with tickets for Odd-numbered trains passing through Dieu Tri station on November 7 and 8, 2025.

Previously, the railway industry had issued a notice to stop running trains SE5/SE6 departing from Hanoi /Saigon station and SE21/SE22 departing from Da Nang/Saigon station on November 7. The notice was sent via SMS, Zalo system, fanpage... Passengers with tickets for the stopped trains can return their tickets free of charge at the railway station, the return time is no more than 30 days, calculated from the date of departure stated on the ticket.
