Blue scorpion venom essence is being advertised to support the treatment and prevention of many types of cancer, but in reality it also spreads and increases the invasion of cancer cells. Many people “lose money and suffer” because of the mentality that when they are sick, they pray to all directions.

Many cancer patients have paid the price for their health and lives.
Dr. Trinh The Cuong - Department of Chemistry, Oncology Center, E Hospital - said that when people have cancer, they have the mentality of "when sick, they pray to all directions", looking for every way to fight this disease, reduce the side effects of treatment, including complementary medicines.
Unfortunately, patients taking these complementary therapies underestimate the risk of interactions with cancer drugs or, worse, skip cancer treatments, depriving themselves of their chance.
Many cancer patients have paid the price for their health and lives because of using functional foods containing blue scorpion venom. Recently, Mr. Nguyen Van T., 67 years old ( Hanoi ), went to the doctor with late-stage liver cancer, a large abdomen full of fluid, and yellow skin like turmeric.
The patient pulled out a bottle of V. brand from his pocket that he still used to treat his illness. He said that 6 months ago he discovered a liver tumor. The doctor advised surgery, but he refused because he heard that Cuban blue scorpion venom is a miracle drug for treating cancer. His children pooled 6 million VND each month to buy V. brand products for their father to drink.
"V. is "deified" as a drug with the ability to relieve pain, increase resistance, prevent and support cancer treatment. However, there is no research proving the effectiveness of this product. If it is effective, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will certainly approve it, but the FDA has not approved V. as a drug.
On the contrary, a recent study analyzed the effects of V. on patients with liver cancer (HCC), a common type of cancer in Vietnam. The results demonstrated that V. increases the proliferation and invasion of liver cancer" - Dr. Cuong shared the results.
Similarly, Dr. Tran Duc Canh - Department of Endoscopy and Functional Exploration at K Hospital - said that the use of blue scorpion venom to prevent cancer is being spread by word of mouth as well as widely advertised on social networks, the product is being researched and produced by many countries, including Cuba.
However, many leading professors in Cuba said they do not use this product in treatment, claiming that the cancer treatment effects of products containing blue scorpion venom are only spread among the people and are not used in hospitals.
Citing research in the journal Nature, it also said that blue scorpion venom supplements are ineffective in treating cancer, and even spread and increase the invasion of cancer cells.
"Patients need to understand that scorpion venom products are not a miracle drug as advertised. Many studies have shown that medicinal products can relieve pain and alleviate symptoms in patients with terminal cancer, but their effects in treating cancer have not been confirmed.
On the market, scorpion venom products, both in the form of medicine and functional foods, are advertised as hand-carried goods and are sold quite a lot. In reality, these are smuggled goods, even counterfeit goods, so the product labeling is very messy, and the instructions for use vary from place to place.
Patients should consult a doctor before using any medicine or other supplements to avoid possible risks when using the medicine incorrectly. Research published in the journal Nature also shows that liver cancer patients may be at risk from scorpion venom, even life-threatening," said Dr. Canh.
Does scorpion venom work?
According to Dr. Hoang Khanh Toan - former head of the oriental medicine department, 108 Central Military Hospital - scorpions are also known as toan yet, toan trung, spicy, neutral and poisonous.
Scorpions have been used as medicine for thousands of years, but only with the effects of inducing convulsions, eliminating toxins, clearing blood stasis, and relieving pain. They are often used to treat children's convulsions, boils, slow-healing wounds, tuberculosis, stroke, hemiplegia, crooked mouth and eyes, migraines, rheumatism, and epilepsy. There is no mention of their effects in treating cancer.
Many experts say that some businesses are taking advantage of the fear and despair of cancer patients, exploiting the trend of believing that "natural" treatments are better, to advertise products that support cancer treatment and make a lot of money.
According to Dr. Quang, currently some businesses are advertising functional foods under the name of supporting cancer treatment to sell at sky-high prices, providing false information, and defrauding consumers.
