Equipping Red Cross volunteers with disaster prevention skills

From September 28 to 30, in Buon Ma Thuot City, the Provincial Red Cross organized a training course on natural disaster prevention for Red Cross volunteers in key areas where natural disasters frequently occur.

The training course was attended by 68 Red Cross volunteers from the following districts: Buon Don, Ea Sup, Krong Bong, Lak, Ea H'leo, M'Drak and Cu M'gar.

Trainees participated in expressing their opinions at the training class.

Here, students were informed about the contents related to hazards, natural disaster risks, climate change; response and relief activities in natural disasters; how to quickly assess damage and needs in emergency situations; and community-based disaster risk assessment.

Through the training course, Red Cross volunteers in localities frequently affected by natural disasters will be equipped with knowledge and skills on readiness and response capacity in emergency situations; thereby meeting the requirements of prevention and proactive response when natural disasters and catastrophes occur in the province.
