Awarding ceremony of Phan Thiet Open Chess Tournament

BTO-On November 19, the 1st Phan Thiet Ky Dao Open Chess Tournament - 2023 took place in Phan Thiet City.

First prize awarded to player Huynh Viet Chien

The tournament had 32 players from localities such as La Gi, Phan Thiet, Bac Binh, Ham Thuan Nam. According to the Organizing Committee, the Open Chess Tournament aims to: "Create connections, exchanges, create a healthy playground and opportunities to learn and compete for players who are passionate about Chess" .

The players played the first game according to the Swiss system.

The blind chess tournament is played in the Swiss system with 7 rounds, each round lasts 15 minutes. Scoring for a round: 1 point for a win, 0.5 points for a draw, 0 points for a loss . Total points after 7 rounds , if tied , will be calculated according to the progressive coefficient. The 4 players with the highest scores after 7 rounds will compete in the semi-finals, the two winners will compete in the final, the losers will compete for 3rd place. Positions 5-8 will receive consolation prizes.

After a day of competition, the Organizing Committee held a closing ceremony and awarded prizes at Phan Thiet Ky Dao Coffee Shop (No. 13 Cu Chinh Lan, Phu Tai Ward, Phan Thiet City ) . The first round of the chess tournament was won by Huynh Viet Chien, the second round was won by Tran Ngoc Anh, and the third round was won by Tran Xuan Nghia, both from Phan Thiet City.
