Party congresses at all levels, leading up to the 14th National Party Congress, are approaching. This is a major political event of the country to select talented people to contribute to the development and advancement of the country. However, taking advantage of the above event, recently, hostile forces have been actively promoting distorted and sabotage activities on cyberspace with the intention of causing social ideological disturbance and separating people from the Party.
Hiding under the guise of fighting for "democracy", " human rights ", building "civil society"... Viet Tan (a counter-revolutionary organization in exile) has recently continued to vigorously and thoroughly exploit the development of
Internet, especially social networks to propagate, attack, and entice people to join disguised groups and associations on cyberspace. According to the authorities, Viet Tan has created hundreds of new accounts and many closed forums, combined with previous forums such as "Canh Tan", "Friends of Viet Tan", "Friends of Nguyen Quoc Quan"... maintaining more than 1,000 social network accounts, posting and sharing negative articles and information in society to exaggerate and sabotage ideology; distort the Party and State's guidelines, policies and strategies; defame the image and personality of Party and State leaders; incite hostile thoughts and attitudes of youth and students towards cadres, Party members and civil servants;
Along with Viet Tan, another trick that reactionary organizations often use before elections and congress preparations is to call for and promote the "free candidacy" movement, distorting the election work... Their ultimate goal is to conduct political sabotage, realize the "peaceful evolution" strategy, and destroy the Party's ideological foundation.
In order to fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints, oppose peaceful evolution, and protect the Party's ideological foundation, in addition to the efforts of the functional forces in the fight against violators, the revolutionary press has promoted its role as a pioneering force on the ideological and cultural front. Our Party has repeatedly pointed out that the revolutionary press must perform well its function of propagating the Party and State's guidelines and policies, discovering, affirming and spreading to the whole society the good, the beautiful, the typical, and the new factors; at the same time, fighting and criticizing the bad, the negative, correcting distorted perceptions, fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints, and protecting the Party's ideological foundation. The press must demonstrate its core values of verified news, fighting against distorted news, fake news, bad news, and toxic news; promptly notify authorities of cases of posting fabricated information, contributing to eliminating negative information, building a healthy and useful space for society.
In recent times, press agencies in the province have carried out many articles and reports criticizing and refuting erroneous and hostile viewpoints. Following the direction of the Provincial Party Committee's Steering Committee 35, since 2021, Thanh Hoa Newspaper (now Thanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio - Television Station) has opened a column on Protecting the Party's Ideological Foundation in Thanh Hoa Electronic Newspaper and Thanh Hoa Daily Newspaper. At the same time, the Editorial Board of Thanh Hoa Newspaper has directed specialized departments, of which the core is the Reporters Department, to draft and develop an annual propaganda plan, articles, special pages, and columns in the monthly outline. The reporter force has actively monitored, stayed close to the base, and stayed close to the locality to produce news, articles, and photos to propagate the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints; and fighting against plots and peaceful evolution activities in the fields of ideology and culture.
According to statistics, from 2021 to May 2025, Thanh Hoa Newspaper publications have published more than 3,000 news, articles, photos, and video clips promoting the protection of the Party's ideological foundation and the fight against erroneous and hostile views. Many good, practical, and meaningful articles have been shared and commented positively by individuals and organizations in the province, creating conditions for people participating in social networks to learn more about the Party's policies, the State's policies and laws, and to be vigilant against the insidious plots of hostile forces.
Nowadays, the development of technology is having a comprehensive impact on the way and habits of accessing and searching for information of everyone. Therefore, in order to fulfill the task of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, press agencies continue to attach importance to training and building a team of press managers, reporters and editors with political courage, pure moral qualities and professional expertise, constantly "forging the pen" to "support the righteous and ward off evil". The provincial press agencies continue to promote their leading role in fighting and refuting the wrong and destructive views of hostile forces, protecting Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh Thought, the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State, actively fighting and criticizing the bad and negative, correcting distorted perceptions, identifying and fighting against degradation, manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party, while at the same time propagating and disseminating the moral, cultural and good lifestyle values of the Vietnamese people. Thereby, well implementing the orientation of public opinion, repelling bad and toxic information, contributing to raising the spirit of vigilance, love for the homeland and country, strengthening the people's trust in the regime and the leadership of the Party and State.
