In the exhibition space, the public can admire the unique artwork "Six-Layer Cut Specimen" - a visual metaphor for the process of restructuring heritage. The artwork is divided into six slices, recreating the journey through the renowned traditional embroidery villages of Northern and Central Vietnam, from embroidering imperial robes in Dong Cuu to embroidering paintings in Quat Dong. Through the creative lens of "Carving-Inlaying-Cutting," the art of embroidery is given a new look, both honoring traditional values and inspiring contemporary thinking.

The exhibition also offers many activities that connect art and the public: meeting and chatting with embroidery artist Phung Thi Vui; participating in workshops on making lampshades and experiencing traditional embroidery techniques. This is an opportunity for attendees to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the exquisite beauty of Vietnamese embroidery heritage in the context of modern creativity.

Speaking at the ceremony, Director of the Hue Fine Arts Museum, Dinh Thi Hoai Trai, said that the exhibition "HER-ITAGE - Restructuring Traditional Embroidery" will be an opportunity for the public to experience traditional embroidery art more deeply through each exhibited work; at the same time, it will recreate the spirit of traditional craftsmanship through contemporary fashion language, providing a multi-sensory aesthetic experience that is both sophisticated and rich in cultural depth.

“The exhibition space ‘HER-ITAGE - Restructuring Traditional Embroidery’ will create ‘meetings’ between the past and the present, between heritage and the new, between tradition and continuity, with a spirit of respect and creativity. It will bridge the gap between fashion and art in a creative space imbued with the spirit of artist Diem Phung Thi – who always emphasizes the beauty of the East and Vietnamese identity in fine arts,” the Director of the Hue Museum of Fine Arts hopes.

“HER-ITAGE” is a project marking nearly 10 years of operation for the Lecia brand, founded by designer Nguyen Quynh Anh. The project reflects a fresh and insightful perspective on the relationship between the modern muse and traditional heritage.

Instead of simply changing the silhouette, Lecia brings traditional Vietnamese craftsmanship into a contemporary look, affirming that "Made in Vietnam" wedding dresses are not just products but also works of art embodying pride and cultural stories.

The exhibition is open to the public from September 21-29 at the Diem Phung Thi Art Center in Hue City.
