Representatives from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien province presented the Decision recognizing the "New Rice Festival of the Si La people" as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage to the cultural heritage custodian.

The New Rice Festival plays a significant role in the material and spiritual life of the Si La people in Muong Nha commune, Dien Bien province. This custom is closely linked to agricultural beliefs and is a deeply humane traditional culture that the Si La people cherish and preserve through many generations.

This is an occasion to express gratitude to their ancestors for blessing their families with peace and prosperity, and to pray for good fortune in the coming harvest, favorable weather, a bountiful crop, and a comfortable and prosperous life.

The activities at the festival demonstrate the strength of community cohesion, building positive cultural values, contributing to the development of good human qualities, overcoming difficulties and hardships in life, and looking towards joy and a bright, happy future.
