
According to the forecast of the Hydrometeorological Station of Vinh Long province, according to the rising tide of the 15th day of the 9th lunar month, the water level of rivers will rise 5 cm higher than alarm level I to higher than alarm levels II and III, causing widespread flooding in many areas in Vinh Long province.
The highest peak water level at stations during this high tide is forecasted to occur from November 5 to 8. At My Thuan station, the peak water level is 40 cm higher than alarm level III; Cho Lach station is 18 cm higher than alarm level III; Tra Vinh station is 20 cm higher than alarm level III; the remaining stations are 5 - 12 cm higher than alarm level III.
The possibility of flooding will have a negative impact on the environment, road and waterway traffic activities, affecting the lives and activities of residents. In particular, high tides causing deep flooding will damage fruit growing areas, livestock and aquaculture areas of the people.

Warning of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Vinh Long province, upstream areas from river branches in the province, such as: Phu Tuc commune (Tien river); Tien Thuy commune, Vinh Thanh commune, Phuoc My Trung commune (Ham Luong river), Thanh Thoi discharge, Nhi Long commune, Long Duc ward (Co Chien river), Tan Hoa commune (Hau river), and many areas along Tien river, Mang Thit river, low-lying areas, areas outside the dike, coastal areas of the province are likely to have high tides causing flooding from 20 - 50 cm deep, level II natural disaster warning level.

Under the direction of Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee Lu Quang Ngoi, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of the province proactively coordinated with localities to quickly deploy plans to prevent and combat high tides, heavy rains, storms and floods; strengthen inspection and reinforcement of the dyke system, dams, and key irrigation works according to the motto "4 on-site" and "3 ready", ensuring safety for production and people's lives.
Functional units together with local authorities in the province organize serious staff on duty, closely monitor weather developments and high tides to promptly warn and guide people in response. Communes and wards review and update plans to evacuate people from deep flooded areas and areas at risk of landslides; fully prepare materials, means and on-site forces to handle emergency situations, ensuring stable life and production after natural disasters.
