Displaying 18 National Treasures on the occasion of the 2024 Red Flamboyant Festival

The collection of 21 treasures of Hai Phong , including 18 national treasures of the An Bien Collection House and especially the Set of Gold and Silver Artifacts in the Holy Palace of Nghe Temple, kept, preserved and received by Hai Phong Museum in February 2024, was first announced and displayed at the 2024 Red Flamboyant Festival.

The An Bien Collection owned by businessman Tran Dinh Thang (Hai Phong) has been collected for the past 40 years. After 40 years of collection, 500 artifacts with scientific records registered with state agencies have been named the An Bien Collection, divided into four cultural space groups. These are antiques belonging to the Dai Viet state, 11th - 19th centuries; Chinese antiques, 9th - 19th centuries; antiques from the Northern domination period, 5th century BC to 9th century and a set of wooden and stone Buddha statues from the 17th - 19th centuries. Of which, the An Bien collection has 18 items recognized as national treasures in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

The three national treasures recognized in 2023 include the Dong Son bronze vase (An Bien), dating from the Dong Son culture, 2nd - 1st century BC; the brown ceramic vase, dating from the 11th - 12th century; the blue-gray ceramic incense burner, dating from around the Hung Tri era (1588 - 1591), during the reign of King Mac Mau Hop. This is an extremely valuable and meaningful set of artifacts for the people of Hai Phong. It is a set of artifacts associated with the worship of female general Le Chan, who laid the foundation for the formation of today's Hai Phong city, and is revered by the people as the Holy Mother and the City's tutelary deity.

This event is held within the framework of the Red Flamboyant Flower Festival - Hai Phong 2024. The Red Flamboyant Flower Festival is a political - cultural, social event, the pride of Hai Phong people, held annually in May, associated with the anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day (May 13, 1955). This year, the Red Flamboyant Flower Festival - Hai Phong 2024 with the theme "Hai Phong - Illuminating the heritage land", takes place from May 10-14, 2024 in Hai Phong City with many unique cultural and artistic events.
