According to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh , China's reopening brings many opportunities for expanding the export market for world goods.

Speaking at the regular January meeting of the Government with localities this morning (February 2), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh pointed out that in January this year, there are two holidays, New Year's Day and Lunar New Year, taking place in the month, so the number of working days is less, only 2/3 of normal.

The world situation in January continued to be complicated and unpredictable. China's reopening brought many opportunities, such as the ability to expand the export market for Vietnam's key products, but also many difficulties and challenges.

According to the Prime Minister, the task of February is very large. The Prime Minister asked the delegates to analyze and forecast the situation, especially emerging issues, lessons learned in leadership and management, thereby proposing goals, tasks, and solutions that are close to the actual situation, feasible, focused, key, and highly effective so that leadership, direction, and management can achieve the best results. In particular, the Prime Minister directed that it is necessary to promote production, business, create jobs, minimize negative impacts from the outside, and maximize strengths and achievements in 2022 and January 2023.

At the same time, the Prime Minister suggested that it is necessary to overcome difficulties and challenges, on that basis, promote and encourage the entire system of law enforcement agencies and the entire political system to focus on socio-economic development with the spirit of rapid recovery and sustainable development right from the first day and month of the year. In particular, it is necessary to resolve bottlenecks and obstacles, remove problems that businesses and people are facing; and lay the foundation for socio-economic development in 2023 and the following years.

According to the report at the meeting, in January, ministries and branches resolutely focused on implementing the tasks of 2023 right from the first days of the year. The macroeconomic situation was basically stable, the consumer price index (CPI) in January 2023 increased by 0.52% compared to December 2022 and increased by 4.89% compared to the same period last year.

The monetary market initially had positive growth, as of January 17, credit increased by 0.65% compared to the end of last year; ensuring liquidity of the banking system, meeting the payment and cash withdrawal needs of people and businesses before and during the Lunar New Year.

Budget revenue in January reached 11.3% of the estimate. Newly registered FDI capital reached 1.2 billion USD, 3 times higher than the same period last year. January's trade surplus was estimated at 3.6 billion USD. National defense and security were ensured, foreign affairs activities were promoted. Production and business activities continued to recover and grow thanks to high consumer demand during the Lunar New Year./.
