Universities remove strange combinations when recruiting medical and pedagogical students

Many strange admission combinations, without major subjects, key subjects, unrelated to the training program have been eliminated by universities, replaced by combinations with traditional subjects.

Remove strange admission combinations

Previously, Tuoi Tre Online had articles about the strange recruitment of physics teachers without considering physics scores, and "medical recruitment with many strange combinations" reflecting the shortcomings in the 2025 admission combinations of universities.

The Ministry of Education and Training then asked schools to explain the scientific and practical basis when choosing the admission combination.

The Ministryof Education and Training also requires universities to select the subject combinations for admission based on the basic knowledge requirements and core competencies that candidates can study. Particularly for teacher training programs, the Ministry requires the subject combinations for admission or the entrance threshold to have specific requirements for the corresponding subject knowledge.

Universities that recruit strange combinations have adjusted their admission combinations.

In particular, Hoa Binh University (Hanoi) adjusted the admission combination for medical and traditional medicine majors to recruit 5 combinations, of which 4 combinations have math and biology, the remaining combination is math - physics - chemistry. Thus, the school has eliminated and replaced strange combinations: math - literature - English, math - physics - English, literature - math - geography.

Similarly, Dong Thap University also adjusted the admission combination for many pedagogical majors. All pedagogical majors of basic subjects such as physics, chemistry, and biology of the school have main subjects in the admission combination.

Previously, physics education recruited the combinations of math - literature - English, math - literature - culture, without physics; chemistry education recruited the combinations of math - literature - physics, math - literature - English; biology education recruited the combinations of math - literature - culture...

According to the 2025 enrollment information announced by Hanoi Capital University on the school's website, pedagogical majors enroll students with strange combinations, no main subjects, and are different from most other universities.

Math - physics - chemistry or math - physics - English is the main combination that many universities recruit for math education.

However, Hanoi Capital University does not recruit this combination. The two majors of mathematics and physics education recruit the following combinations: mathematics - literature - English, literature - mathematics - physics, literature - mathematics - chemistry, literature - mathematics - geography.

Thus, the physics education industry has up to 3 admission combinations without physics.

Similarly, the majors of literature pedagogy, history pedagogy, and English pedagogy consider admission to 4 groups: math - literature - English, literature - math - history, literature - math - geography, and literature - math - economic and legal education.

Three completely different pedagogical majors but the admission combinations are exactly the same. This leads to many admission combinations not having the main subject, the core foundation of the major.

According to this admission method, 3/4 of the admission combinations for the history pedagogy major do not include history. The English pedagogy major also has 3/4 of the admission combinations not including English.
